Episode 32

What would be a normal reaction when hearing that a person on drugs drove a truck toward people in broad daylight, only to be subdued without major damage thanks to a flash of light and the ground sinking?

At least the Master (the head of the rival organization) showed a somewhat human reaction in that regard. It was clearly a mix of dumbfoundedness and admiration for the perpetrator's madness.

"What is this? This guy is seriously crazy, huh?"

The Master said that and laughed heartily. It seemed he felt things were turning out more interesting than he had expected.

  It was natural.

An inexperienced punk, not even 30, had overcome the trap meant to kill him using an absurd method. Thinking the guy was a much bigger deal than he thought, the Master was delighted.

"This is them, right? The drug addicts' punks?"

At the Master's question, his right-hand man nodded and replied.

"Yes. A guy on drugs, well, let's leave that aside, but the guys right in front of that truck are their punks."

The Master nodded at his right-hand man's words. His face even showed pleasure, as if he had found an interesting toy.

"He's a dead man just for messing with us, but he's completely turned that side upside down too. It won't be boring, will it?"

The Master said that, laughing loudly. He wanted to see the other Boss's face and tease him, wondering how angry he must be. Thinking the Boss would have a face perfectly fitting a failure, he felt refreshed.

  "Should I call him once?"

The Master said that and took out his phone. His right-hand man was surprised and tried to stop him when he saw the Master was genuinely about to make the call. Considering the other side's personality, it was something that really shouldn't be done.

  "Are you planning a war?"

Needlessly provoking them would collapse the precarious situation. If a gang war truly started, only irreparable wounds would remain on both sides.

"Why? If he explodes like this, that guy won't survive long in this world. And think about it. We've suffered considerable losses because of that punk, haven't we?"

The Master said that, recalling the executive gangster who was beneath him. That guy was no longer useful. But nevertheless, what the executive gangster said was quite meaningful.

"Ignore him, as he's not someone good to get involved with... That might be better. It's not a matter of pride. But if we did that, would we have come this far?"

The right-hand man nodded at the Master's words.

"That's right. When it's time to crush them, we must crush them, mustn't we?"

Regardless of the damage, if there was something to be repaid, it had to be repaid. And with hefty interest.

Otherwise, they would eventually lose face and be crushed by others. That was an ironclad rule known to everyone living in this world.

If they weren't going to remain a third-rate gang that was neither here nor there, they had to do it properly when the time came. It was troubling to spare even a single person. They had to be driven to complete ruin.

"Still, that bastard seemed to have prepared properly, but seeing that the punk crushed it like that, the young guy is not ordinary. If we're going to hunt, we'll be in trouble if we don't prepare properly. Otherwise, we'll be the ones who get eaten."

The Master said that, playing the news again. It seemed he had already started thinking about what to do.

"Indeed. How on earth is that possible? What magic did he use?"

"Perhaps he took the power of that deceased cult leader woman for himself. That woman had the power to flash strange electricity, if you can call it that. You don't know about that, do you?"

The right-hand man shook his head at the Master's words.

You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.

"How would I know? Isn't this the first time you've mentioned such a thing?"

The Master just laughed at his right-hand man's words.

"Anyway, so let's think about what we should do. It's hard to believe, but imagine we have to deal with a guy who controls electricity, like those in the comics."

The Master spoke, laughing as if he had returned to his innocent past.

"Wouldn't it be better just to avoid him? It's better not to think about defending with rubber or anything like that."

The right-hand man said that, starting to think that things were going wrong. However, he also knew well that his words wouldn't be heeded.

As always, the Master would clearly prioritize his own feelings. That might become quite troublesome.

But the right-hand man knew well that it was also something they had to do.

"Then make the call. If we're going to do it anyway, we should conserve our guys, right?"

The right-hand man made the call with a wry smile at the Master's words.

There was no way to stop the Boss's rage. In such times, the best strategy was to leave the vicinity. Getting swept up in unnecessary matters always ended badly.

The lawyer, who had avoided the situation in advance, looked at the area in front of the Boss's room before entering his own office. The place was already a mess.

Subordinates who had been beaten like stray dogs were being carried out. Their state was so miserable that he involuntarily sighed.

The Boss was losing control, unable to vent his anger. The lawyer knew better than anyone why he was doing this.

However, even knowing the reason, there was nothing he could do. The incident had already occurred, and after he vented, he would cool down a bit. That's when work could begin. As always.

But the problem was bigger than expected.

The Boss's operation had failed, and valuable equipment was lost. Moreover, since the police were now involved in this incident, things had become quite bothersome.

A man on drugs caused a disturbance in broad daylight—it was only natural, wasn't it?

The damage from that alone was considerable.

Furthermore, the mood among the subordinates was not good. Seeing the guys who were used as bait this time, they realized they could be next.

If the operation had succeeded, they might have pretended not to notice. In fact, the subordinates frequently used unsuspecting teenage delinquents as cannon fodder, so they would have considered it a necessary sacrifice for success.

  But it failed.

With that, everything was a mess. They might not speak of it immediately, but this incident would leave a scar on everyone.

Still, it would have been acceptable up to that point. Only up to that point.

However, Jihyeon, as if he knew who had messed with him, destroyed another drug-selling location. That was his own form of revenge.

Of course, there was no evidence that he moved directly. Seeing that he hadn't triggered the tools installed there, he might have used means they hadn't anticipated.

The important thing was the fact that the police raided the place and it was crushed. He was so cunning that it made the lawyer shake his head.

Even if he lived a life unrelated to this world, he would clearly be a successful man. But fate was turning him into the ruin of the organization.

  "Just my luck, seriously..."

The Boss's lawyer sighed. It seemed it would take quite some time for the Boss to calm down.

Before that, the lawyer had to think about what they could do. Since Jihyeon had crossed the line, neither side could back down now.

In fact, if Jihyeon had stopped after crushing their first drug-selling location, it would have ended with just some annoyance.

But now it had turned into a fight over who would die first. And the opponent was wielding a power they knew nothing about.

It would be easier to deal with him if he were an organization, a visible entity. But Jihyeon was an existence that defied common sense.

"Then I'll have to try contacting those people again."

He didn't know how much money it would cost. However, to deal with someone like Jihyeon, they also needed to prepare something.

The lawyer called a contact number only he knew. Since they were extremely capricious people, he didn't know if they would answer the phone, but thankfully, he reached them.

The lawyer continued talking with them for a while. However, his expression only grew harder.

The conversation ended soon, perhaps fruitlessly, only providing information. All that remained was a sense of emptiness.

What breathed life back into the lawyer was a call from the Master's right-hand man.

Jihyeon didn't want to count how many people it was anymore. He simply realized he couldn't tolerate it any longer as the number of fools targeting him gradually increased.

"It seems they don't know that if they don't listen to a warning, the only option is to crush them directly..."

Jihyeon muttered that and stood up. His surroundings were already filled with people who had been knocked unconscious. They had only paid the price for faithfully following orders from above.

They wouldn't wake up for a while. Since they wouldn't die, Jihyeon didn't worry about them anymore.

He didn't even want to count how many times he had to hunt them down now.

Both sides had begun to make direct moves to target Jihyeon. And in ways that irritated Jihyeon.

But a fight is only meaningful when you can win. Jihyeon realized there was no need to hesitate anymore.

"It still feels lacking... I guess I'll have to crush both sides today..."

Once he made up his mind, he just moved quickly. Jihyeon turned his body, thinking he would crush them absolutely.

"I should start by attacking the funding sources first. Liquidated assets are... so..."

Jihyeon began to organize what he needed to do one by one as he left the area. Since they were surprisingly lacking in imagination, he planned to show them exactly what a crazy person could do.

Considering the various possibilities that came to mind with every step, Jihyeon created a list of tasks. And then, he started the work one by one in order.

To others, it might have looked like he was just taking a walk, but Jihyeon was creating a wonderful gift using his smartphone. The heads of the two organizations would now receive a surprising present.

That would probably entertain them greatly. Jihyeon continued his work meticulously, putting effort into making it an unforgettable memory for them.

"Alright, alright... Then let's enjoy the show."

Jihyeon muttered that and touched his phone with his finger. It was the beginning of their ruin.
