Silence still in the same spot held her finger to her mouth saying, “Shh..”
Chaos ran for her as they both disappeared in front of the worshippers, but they were moving at high speed. The speeds and distance varied per attack, and they ended up almost outside of the street in a mere matter of seconds. The amount of times Chaos charged Silence, and Silence counter charged Chaos were numerous. Chaos knew these two Gods had nothing to discuss, Silence was like her name, the god of silence didn’t speak. Chaos landed the first blow catching Silence in mid sprint and wrapping her hands around Silence’s collar before throwing her across the street and meeting her on the other side with a knee to the solar plexus dropping her to her knees hard. Silence winced in pain taking the damage.
Chaos said, “Surrender, I don’t want to kill you, but I will if you refuse to surrender.”
Still wincing in pain Silence got to her feet. Managing to get upright she smirked at Chaos before saying, “Shh..”
Chaos watched her disappear. She thought, did she just disappear or what? She couldn’t find Silence anywhere; her eyes were darting in every direction. Out of thin air a fist struck her across the face, sending her sliding backwards to a stop. Looking up Silence stood where she’d been just a moment ago. Chaos touched her cheek, she felt that hit, was this her power? Was she moving that much faster than Chaos, or had Silence teleported?
Silence said, “Shh..” She disappeared again.
Looking around frantically, Chaos felt a sense of panic set in glancing in all directions. She began catching a series of punches from behind sending her bouncing down the street slamming into several kiosks completely destroying them.
Looking up Chaos saw Silence standing in the street observing her. Chaos pulled herself to her feet, a small stream of crimson was staining through her shirt. She’d taken a piece of broken wood to the kidney, pulling it out she screamed in pain. It wasn’t Silence’s dagger, that’s all that mattered to her.
Facing Silence, Chaos yelled, “I don’t want to kill you! Please don’t make me!” Her blood dripped on the hot asphalt and stained her clothes as she spoke. Silence stood there unmoving, just watching before making a throat slicing motion towards her. Chaos yelled, “I won’t let you kill us!” She charged Silence.
Silence said, “Shh..” and disappeared.
Chaos came to a stop waiting defensively in a dust cloud. She saw the dust shift to her left; she threw a punch catching Silence flat on the nose. An eruption of crimson flowed, and Chaos caught Silences hair in one hand pulling her face into several more punches and kicking her into the wall of a building. It gave way, sending brick and pieces of mortar crashing onto Silence.
Silence crawled out of the debris getting to her feet quickly and she appeared to be off balance slightly. She had a decent amount of blood mixing with the grey dust on her face, and she wore a look of surprise.
Chaos tried again saying, “Please, I don’t want to kill you! Just surrender and we can all live.”
Silence glared at her pointing in the direction of the worshippers, then pointing to Chaos, then she made the throat slicing gesture. She said, “Shh..”
Chaos charged Silence once more, she couldn’t let her disappear again. As they tried to each land strikes; they bounced around looking more like the old battle-tops crashing into each other and bouncing off, only to try again. The only damage they managed to do during this time was to the surrounding area as they ran over, ran through, and jumped off the surrounding utilities.

Clashing a final time, Silence managed to land a hard hit just as Chaos did the same. Chaos drove her fist into Silence’s ribs, causing her to involuntarily spit blood. Silence landed a kick to the side of Chaos’s head making her stumble and fall backwards on the ground.
Silence landed on her knees hacking blood. Chaos barely pulled herself to her feet, now she was seeing doubles. The temple shot that Chaos had received was making her vision completely wonky. Silence got to her feet shaking from the blood dribbling out of her mouth, yet she rushed Chaos.
Chaos saw four of the same God rushing her, she swung, but she never stood a chance against her failing vision. Silence crashed into her driving her through a brick wall, through a restaurant lobby and into the back wall of the kitchen. The wall buckled from the impact as Chaos screamed in pain, metal supports from the wall had broken and pierced her back like pikes. Silence stood there glaring and holding Chaos against the wall applying pressure to continue driving the broken metal into her. The blood dripped from her mouth but the anger made Silence appear uninjured.
Chaos was still seeing doubles and that last hit took almost everything she had. She coughed and the blood fell from her mouth also. She could feel the jagged metal tearing through her slowly and taking out her organs, she could feel her strength leaving her slowly. Chaos saw great irony in the situation, she’d just decided to live and now she would die. Silence drew back and repeatedly landed punch after punch to Chaos’s body, only serving to increase the severity of the pain from her injuries. Crying out in pain Chaos said, “I’m sorry!” The punches stopped.
Placing her face mere inches from Chaos’s face Silence stared at her, gesturing and looking around the room she shrugged at her. Chaos asked, “Why am I sorry?”
Silence said, “Shh..”
Coughing and leaning her head back against the wall Chaos said, “I’m apologizing to my worshipper, I’ve failed him, and he deserves better. Obviously you have bested me. I just want my worshipper.. I mean Stu to know how much his God appreciated him!”
Silence stared into her eyes trying to understand what was happening, she shrugged at Chaos. Coughing and beginning to cry Chaos chuckled saying, “I can’t believe I always cry when this happens.”
Silence stared intently into Chaos’s eyes, she couldn’t help but feel like she had missed something, attempting to gauge meaning from the dying gods’ words. Chaos looked back at her saying, “You better do it before you lose the chance to save Sterling…”
The last sentence frenzied Silence as she pulled on Chaos causing the broken metal in her back to twist. Chaos screamed in pain louder than she ever had before, now rivers of blood began running out of her back and onto the floor. Silence looked into her eyes as if screaming questions she could never verbalize, while pointing to where they’d left the worshippers.
Through blood and tears Chaos said, “Didn’t you know? In the last fight a judge had to intervene before Stu killed a God by himself, and he still took the god’s eye.”
Silence looked shocked and unsure. Letting go of chaos and allowing her to breath, she stared in the direction of the worshippers considering what to do.
A familiar voice spoke, “She isn’t lying, it’s all true.” Prosperity sat at a table in the lobby drinking coffee and looking out of a window.
Silence dropped everything to focus on prosperity readying herself to fight saying, “Shh..”
Taking a drink of her coffee Prosperity said, “I’m suspended currently, you don’t have to worry about me. I’m just here for the coffee and enjoying the show. However, that doesn’t change the fact that Chaos told you the truth.” Finally looking at Silence, she revealed her missing eye. A bright light flashed a couple of blocks away, followed by a low rumbling and several popping sounds. Silence started to go look.
Chaos said, “You should’ve killed me, now you don’t have time to save sterling and win the tournament. Now you have to choose and choose quickly.”
Silence’s eyes were wide; she looked at the other gods taking a step backwards and saying “Shh..” She disappeared.
Prosperity looked around and yelled to Chaos, “You have to go now! You have to save Stu!”
Chaos screamed, the twisted metal ripped and tor her organs. How blood continued to pour out was only known to the gods, because it emptied onto the floor in buckets, she coughed, more blood evacuated her lungs. She started to run as soon as she freed herself, prosperity was right, she had to be fast, or she’d lose Stu forever. In the time it took a single drop of blood to hit the ground she already was ten steps away, running faster. The tears began to streak horizontally behind her, running as fast as she could to save Stu. She refused to cry over losing him. She ran, vowing to herself that he’d be the one thing she’d never cry over. As his God she’d give him more than he gave her, that meant she couldn’t let him die for her. She had to keep the flame, or this was pointless.
