Haring 9:45 Dragon (10:01 SE) The Northern Architect (4)

Seeing Lysette standing earnestly before him made Anri realize one crucial element, he risked negating all meaning and effect of the Shadow Sect.

Since his arrival, he had been welcomed by Templars and referred to as Your Worship. Indeed, for four years he was Herald, Inquisitor, and Your Worship that it became a habitual part of his being. He wanted to kick himself at only now realizing the risk.

The titles and honor had to stop here and now.

It meant that all his earlier plans had to rapidly change. However, Lysette before him presented an easy alternative.

"If it's by your Knight-Commander's will, then I have no problems with this." He nodded when she looked grateful, then added. "If you don't mind, I would prefer if you led the investigation and I took point."

"Me, lead?" Lysette looked surprised but not reluctant.

Anri nodded and explained that it would give a plausible reason for the people to trust that the matter was being handled through a legitimate authority.

Lysette nodded, agreeing to this viewpoint. "So, how will you help, Your Worship?"

"For starters, you can stop calling me 'Your Worship'. I'm no longer the Inquisitor or the Herald. I'm just Anri Lavellan again. If you may, Anri would be fine." He reintroduced himself and added, "This Anri will help you access the areas you can't. If anyone asks, you can just say I'm a curious busybody who forgot he no longer had any authority to intrude."

"Your Worship, I don't know if I can refer to you by your first name. I feel odd for doing so."

"Or course you can Lysette. I'm just a man, especially now that the anchor is gone and I'm non-magical again."

"And I find that reassuring." Lysette thought hard then nodded. "You are right, Your, er, Anri. The Inquisition is no more, it would be disrespecting your earned peace by referring to your former title."

"Thank you Lysette. I appreciate it. So, I think we could tackle the investigation this way, but the decision is yours."

Anri suggested that he be introduced as a visiting comte from Kirkwall who is looking for missing family, in return he had agreed to aid Lysette's investigation.

"People don't need to know the real truth of why I'm here, which is simply touring sights I never got to explore because some Fade Rift needed to be closed."

Lysette chuckled. She nodded, finding this acceptable. Brycen wouldn't care about the logistics provided Anri remained involved and got results.

"At the Alienage, I'll cause a dramatic scene that'll have people hissing at me. It should divert attention to me while you try to find clues." He added, which had her nodding again to his advice.

"Simple but effective. Okay, we'll follow your plan."

"Excellent. Now, do you know of any Dalish names reported missing recently? I need names of the recent entries who weren't familiar with the locals."

Lysette shook her head. "No, but Arland should. He was on patrol and reported the first lot of elves missing, some Dalish."

"Good, let's go find him. I need a name for my cover."

  "Got it."

The two of them returned to the spire and along a grand outdoor archway where the destination was a large combat training ground where many Templar recruits and knights were practicing swordplay.
