F.L 23 Tears in Sunlight.

  Falling Leaves 23??

Sunlight beams through a window, made of stained glass as depictions of angels shine through the light, the light radiates off white limestone, as the stone exterior glimmers around.

Footsteps are heard as bells ring. A man wearing a white cloak with golden streaks adorned around stands on an altar.

Large white angels sit dormant on his back.

  "Haniel." He calls out.

More footsteps are heard as a woman with long green hair, wearing a white robe walks in. Her skin is peachy as her eyes are the color of emeralds. The light shines off them making them glow.

She wears bandages over her neck and her left arm. Her right arm now just a stub covered with the same bandages.

  "Yes—- present."

"With the deaths of your fellow Guardian Angels Ariel and Castiel, what do you plan to do?"

"You can't function by yourself, as a single Guardian Angel, especially with a limb missing."

Haniel grits her teeth. "I know this—- I know—- is this why you called me to this cathedral? To tell me useless information?"

The man grunts. "I'm here to help you, I want to know of your plans."

Haniel paces back and forth. "I—- I-"

"And just a reminder as well, two Archangels were killed, both mistresses have disappeared. We're in a disaster."

  "AGAIN I KNOW!" Haniel shouts.

"And in my opinion Sachi and Ikigai aren't needed! They're the ones who contributed to this mess!"

Haniel begins to tear up. "Castiel and Ariel would still be alive right now! If it wasn't for them! I just know they had something to do with the Shinigami running in heaven!"

"Can you really call them our mistresses?! Just because they're the daughters of a Star?"

"They've done nothing to help Heaven! Nothing at all! They're just brats! Playing with their mommy's power!"

"Nazuke you have to agree with me here! What purpose do they serve?!"

Nazuke sighs. "Haniel think before you speak, this is grief talking for you. You know as well as I do we can't do anything about the order. The twins have an important function in Heaven."

Haniel shakes. "Important? What do they do that's important other than make this place a living hell?! They're tyrants, Nari and Aoi two archangels are DEAD! Because of their actions."

"And yet they just disappear? Ha, really? The ones we're supposed to revere."

"Haniel that's enough, I asked you about what plans you have, not a rant about the Mistresses."

Haniel bites her lips. "My plan—- fine I'll tell you my plan."

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

"I'll become an Archangel, get the power I need to stop these two. And have Heaven under better rule!"

Nazuke's eyes widen and he tries to stop himself from grinning. "R-really? Mm.. mmmmhm.." he tries to hold in laughter.

"Explain to me how you're going to become the ranks of an Archangel when you're missing an arm Haniel? Please speak sense, and be serious about your next plans."

Something in Haniel snaps after hearing the words. "I won't be patronized! I said what I said! And if you want to make a joke of it so be it!"

"I don't need to explain to you what I have planned to become one! How about you shut your mouth!"

Nazuke laughs. "Yes, yes you become an archangel, the one who was the first to fall from our reports. You couldn't even handle the Shinigami for a minute. But you believe you'll become an archangel?"

Haniel turns her back to him as she begins to storm out of the cathedral.

"Think realistically! I'll talk to you again when your head is straight." His voice echoes through the room as she walks away.

Tears start to fall from her eyes, as she pulls the door open and slams it walking out.

As she stands outside the sunlight continues to beam on her face as doves and swans start to fly away from the noise of the door slamming.

She sprouts her wings, as feathers fall off them joining the birds in the air.

Lost in her thoughts she flies over the cathedral viewing the kingdom of Konjeteri.

Angels below in street markets, mortal souls walking around, children of angels and mortal souls playing.

The buildings of white limestone, built like miniature castles. As more doves and swans fly over.

Haniel continues to fly as she heads for the destroyed Colosseum.

Her thoughts race as memories of Ariel and Castiel play in her head.

The times they used to come to the Colosseum to watch battles together. Enjoy the events.

Castiel's dream of wanting to be in a Pegasus race one day.

Ariel supporting them no matter what.

Tears from Haniel. "Oh—- Ariel—- Castiel—- I can't forgive this—-"

Her tear falls as she soars through the sky, it drops like a raindrop, as a mortal soul who's standing below playing feels it drop on his face.

"Rain? Yay it's about to rain!" He shouts excitedly.

As Haniel makes it to the Colosseum she steps inside. It's nothing but rubble, the architecture is destroyed, dried blood litters it.

As not even one body remains, she rushes forward looking around, seeing nothing. Ariel's body gone, Nari's body gone, Aoi's gone.

All the angels and demons killed in the invasion gone.

She's alone in a destroyed colosseum that was once filled with beings.

An apparition appears in front of her, a woman with brown hair wearing a white robe with golden buttons adorned on it like a jacket.

"Ariel—-" Haniel mutters as she runs after her.

Ariel stands there quietly as she smiles, her eyes crinkled, reaching out for Haniel.

As Haniel reaches her arm out, the moment she was about to grab Ariel's hand. She disappears.

  "No—- come back—- please—-"

"Please come back!" She starts to kick the rubble.

  "PLEASE!"

She drops to her knees, as tears stream down her face.

"I—- I have to become an Archangel—- I will avenge everyone who died here—-"

"Heaven failed you all—- The twins failed you—- I- I failed you—-"

Memories of a recent conversation she had when she was at the nursery recovering.

A scientist gave her an option for mechanical parts, he came to visit her when she was still injured.

"To become half machine—- how far will technology push me—-"

"He promised me power above my own—- and that's—-"

"That's exactly what I need to become an archangel."

She sprouts her wings once more as she leaves the colosseum.

Her feather floats falling to the ground as the sunlight shines off it, a gust of wind then blows it.

As it soars over the Colosseum landing on a blood stained stand.
