Elanore watched the cauldron in front of her sprout bat wings. Though, it was odd. The wings floated slightly off to the sides of the cauldron, yet the thing came to life. What’s more, it twirled around in front of her and presented the other side, a pink eye opening up. Even more mystically, the new item tipped forwards slightly and spoke with a raspy voice.
“Pleased to be alive, mistress.”
“Wait! What the heck? I didn’t expect you to come alive. I just wanted your wings to flap around or something. What is this? How is this even possible?”
“The spirits had answered your call. We all gathered together to become one consciousness. Take a look.”
Damn, I really went about and created a new life form. One that would be straight out of the demon king’s playbook as well. Though, this name won’t do.
Elanore shook her head. “No, no, this won’t do at all. I will have to rename you, just as I renamed my Manapie.”
The cauldron’s pink eye opened and closed, blinking several times before it tipped forwards yet again, bowing before its summoner. “I would be much honored if you were to name me. Any gift from you is a blessing upon me.”
“From now on you will be called….Pot.”
The cauldron tipped from side to side as if tilting its head. “Oh, what a lovely name, mistress. Pot suits me well.”
Elanore stood straight and smugly patted her chest. “Of course it does. One thing that I have always been great at is naming things. From now on, Pot, you will be my most loyal cauldron. You will brew me plenty of potions and energy drinks. Though, at this point, you look so fantastical, I don’t want to use this cheap ladle on you.”
Pot nodded. “If that’s the case, why not fashion the ladle in the same way you did for me, mistress?”
“Of course! You are a Pot after my own heart, after all!”
Elanore pulled the piece of wood from her inventory and began to think on how she could make it like the cauldron in front of her. I suppose I could insert that dire bear’s sharp teeth, and then I could form another crystal with one of these around here. Though, I should definitely not create another sentient object at this juncture. I think this world is not ready for that conversation. Item's rights and what not.
Instead, she pulled out the old and rusted silver coins from her inventory. “I guess I could use these things as sockets, provided that I can de-rust them first.”
Naturally, there was a sorcery spell for that as well. She channeled her mana into her fingers and touched the coins. “[Item Time Reversal].”
The spell worked immediately, and the coins turned from their rusted brown color back to silver. “I can use these as part of my handle, but they need my own spark.”
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Pot looked over her shoulder at the silver coins. “Might I suggest that you change them to be more to your visage? I have no idea whose face graces those coins, but it would be unbecoming to use anything except for your face, mistress.”
Elanore stared at the shimmering silver coins with the face of a bearded man and sighed. “You’re right. Though, I have no idea how I would even go about changing it. I could chisel the face out with my magic like I did your shape, but doing so would be more challenging since it is detailed.”
The vampire thought back to all of the spells and skills she learned in the game. She was currently lamenting the fact she hadn’t learned more crafting skills. She did have enchanting. She wanted to facepalm when she remembered her [Jewler] class.
Can’t believe I forgot about that one. She scrolled through all of the jewler skills, and sure enough she found it right away.
She immediately used the skill, and her fingertip acted like a pink laser. It began reshaping the coin, and with it, the coin was also shifting colors. Naturally, with anything that Elanore seemed to do anymore, there were only a few colors it could be. Somehow, even though it was being struck with a pink laser, it was changing to white.
Her face started forming in the coin like a perfect mirror, despite her not gazing at a reflection of herself. She even formed a visage of the witch hat, and her pink hair became the color contrast she needed.
“I never imagined that this skill would be used to mint a coin." She held the coin up in the air, marveling at it.
The cauldron behind her flapped his wings several times, imitating the sound of clapping hands. “Congratulations, my mistress. It is even better than I imagined.”
Elanore grinned, showcasing her pearly white fangs, and she began working on a couple other coins. After having done it once already, the next two times were like autopilot. She finished fast, keeping the rest of the coins as silver just in case.
She formed the ladle handle, and she drilled circular holes inside of it, creating resting spots for the coins. After placing them in there, she cast her [Cementing] spell once more, and the coins were glued to the handle.
Now, all I have to do is put enchantments on the ladle. What do you even give a ladle? Extra stirring ability? Unbreakable is definitely on the menu.
“[Indestructible],” she said, casting the first enchantment across one of the ladle’s Ella coins.
“[Repel Mana],” she said, casting the second enchantment across a coin.
And finally, “[Create Enchantment – Stirring the Pot].”
This one she imagined would help with the ladles stirring capabilities and possibly produce even more yield from the cauldron. Though, she had no way to prove it without testing it. And a familiar ding sound resounded, signaling that the ladle was complete.
“[Inspect].”
“Hmm, it seems that I will need to rename this one. Do you have any name suggestions, Pot?”
The pot shook from side to side. “No mistress, I would not wish to take away your ability to name all of your servants.”
Elanore looked towards the snoozing Laela. I didn’t name all of my servants. What name would even fit a ladle? Well, it will be the one making my energy drinks, so I need a name in that direction.
She held the ladle up in the air. “I think that I will name you...Enerdle!”
There were no protests from the silent cave, and Pot simply nodded in affirmation.
“I have taken in the name of my new comrade, mistress. Together, we will create the best brews for your tasting pleasure.”
“As it should be,” Ella said with a grin.
She looked outside and noticed that the sun had already started rising into the sky. Somehow she’d managed to waste away her first day in a new world, yet she’d already gained three subordinates. Could that really be considered a waste?
Moreover, I don’t feel tired at all! But I could use an energy drink.
Laela sat up and yawned, stretching her arms. “Good morning, mistress.”
It seems like two of us could use an energy drink.
