Beneath the gray sky of the harbor city Alfron, where the wind smells of salt and despair, a lone figure slips through the alleys. Luna, a snow leopard demihuman with snow-white fur and ruby-red shimmering hair, wears an unmarked silver sve ring through one of her ears – a silent symbol of her past. She is a nobody. Born in chains, cast out for being too weak and useless, she knows nothing but the cold streets. Yet within her lies a power she doesn’t yet understand – the ability to shape shadows to her will.

  She meets Captain Leobold, a trader with a dark past of his own. As Leobold tries to help Luna, her sve ring begins to glow – and his name is burned into the metal, marking him as her “owner.” Neither Leobold nor his crew, made up of former sves and underworld figures, are happy about this. But the misunderstanding is quickly resolved – and they set sail.

  As the brigantine heads toward adventure, past floating markets and into dangerous waters, Luna’s journey to her true purpose begins. Will she learn to master the shadows, or will they consume her? One thing is certain: in a world of intrigue, magic, and the fight for freedom, Luna is far more than the “useless” girl she was once believed to be.
