CHP 48: ESTEEMED GUEST

As the chaos in the auction hall began to settle and the final bid for the mysterious egg was sealed by Jin Yu’s unshakable voice, the atmosphere grew strangely still. All the laughter, the strained chuckles, the boiling resentment—it simmered into a heavy silence.

The announcer, who had remained composed throughout the storm of bids, adjusted her robe and stepped forward.

“Esteemed guests,” she said, voice ringing clearly throughout the grand hall, “we have now reached the end of this esteemed auction. On behalf of the Golden Phoenix Auction House, I thank each and every one of you for your spirited participation.” She offered a courteous bow before continuing. “May the treasures acquired today guide your cultivation journeys toward greater heights.”

Several attendants appeared, moving with practiced grace toward the sealed doors at the side of the stage.

“Winners of today’s bids,” the announcer continued, “will be personally escorted to the payment hall. Upon confirmation of transaction, your items shall be delivered in full. Please proceed accordingly.”

At once, the tension in the crowd snapped.

“That’s it?!” someone bellowed from the second floor, slamming a hand against the railing. “We sat through a rigged show just to walk away empty-handed?!”

“You call this an auction?!” another noble snarled. “This was daylight robbery in the name of commerce!”

“And that brat—!” someone else growled, eyes flashing toward Jin Yu’s VIP room. “Who does he think he is?! Buying everything, even what he doesn’t need!”

“He's just hoarding treasures to show off!” another voice added bitterly. “Where is the fairness in that?!”

Dozens of voices rose in angry protest, curses raining down from nearly every section of the building. Some even turned their fury toward the auction house itself.

“This place has lost its integrity!”

“We’ll take this matter to our sect elders!”

  “We demand an investigation!”

Up in his private chamber, Jin Yu stood calmly, still sipping from his cup. A smile on his lips, heart filled with satisfaction. His posture relaxed as if he were listening to the wind, not a wave of insults.

Rainbow shimmered a smug shade of crimson, flicking her vine playfully, as if mocking the tantrums below.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Min Li stepped closer to the glass, brushing his long sleeves aside as he looked down with cold eyes. “How amusing,” he said, his voice loud enough to carry through the spiritual broadcast array. “The ones too poor to win a bid now complain as if they were wronged.”

His smile turned mocking. “If you cannot afford to compete, then you were never worthy of the treasures to begin with.”

His words dropped like thunder into a dry field. A few of the furious nobles trembled, nearly drawing weapons—but the security array in the hall flared subtly, warning them not to test their luck.

The announcer, still composed, offered a shallow bow again.

“Please, honorable guests. The Divine Ascension Auction House upholds fairness and follows the rules set by the Circle of Commerce. Should any of you have grievances, you are welcome to submit a formal report.” She smiled faintly. “Otherwise, we thank you once again for your attendance, and wish you safe travels.”

The doors to the payment hall slowly creaked open.

All eyes turned to Jin Yu's room one last time—filled with envy, hatred, fear... and unwilling admiration.

He didn’t say a word. He didn’t need to.

With a flick of his sleeve, Jin Yu turned away from the window, his silhouette cast in dim gold light, like a young sovereign returning to his throne.

The hall outside the VIP room was already under strict guard, but it felt even colder now as Jin Yu stepped out, flanked by attendants in azure robes. Min Li walked beside him with that faint, knowing smirk, his eyes glittering with mischief and pride as if he was the one who spent Billions.

The entire auction staff greeted Jin Yu with utmost reverence, and the moment he appeared, they bowed in near unison.

“This way, Young Master Jin,” a senior attendant said respectfully, leading him down a jade-tiled corridor toward the payment room. The walls were inscribed with runes that shimmered softly—anti-eavesdropping formations, spatial stabilizers, and security seals.

The payment hall itself was a grand chamber. Pillars lined with spirit-crystal veined jade supported the high ceiling. Several treasurers and appraisers stood at attention, documents and ledgers in hand, awaiting his command.

A respectfully dressed elder stepped forward and bowed deeply. “Honored guest. The total sum of your purchases comes to—” He gulped. “—Fifty Seven Billion,Seventy two million, eight hundred and twenty thousand spirit stones.......Honored sir, may I ask how you intend to settle the payment?”

Not a soul in the room dared to breathe too loudly.

  Jin Yu didn’t even blink.

“Charge it to my father,” he said casually, brushing his sleeve. “Household account. Lord Jin Wei’s personal ledger.”

The Elder visibly paled. His hands trembled slightly as he stammered, “Y-yes… of course, Young Master Jin. I’ll… verify the token immediately…”

Before he could respond, Haozi stepped forward from where he had been quietly lingering near the corner, arms crossed.

He tossed out a black-and-gold command token bearing the emblem of the Jin Clan. The aura it released silenced all doubts. The Elder took it as if receiving a divine decree, hastily activating the crystal pad at the desk.

“Verification complete,” he said a moment later, bowing even lower than before. “Funds will be transferred from Lord Jin Wei’s account within the hour.”

“Good.” Jin Yu nodded, then gestured lazily. “Now have everything sent to my spatial ring, I’m not walking out with sacks like a merchant.”

“Understood, Young Master! " The Elder replied and immediately walked towards a door at the side of the room,he went in and came back a moment later.

"Here it is Esteemed guest" he handed Jin Yu the silver colored ring with both hands .

Jin Yu's heart skipped a beat from excitement as he collected the ring,he twirled it around a bit before slipping it on his middle finger.

Rainbow flashed a flicker of sparkling silver in sync with the ring, twirling happily around his wrist as he slid it onto his middle finger.

"should we assign a transcendent realm expert to secure your safety to home, young master?" The Elder offered

Jin Yu looked at the him and shook his head a little

  "No need..."he said slowly

"...whoever dares to rob this young master has only one fate–Death!"

  The Elder's fingers trembled slightly

Jin Yu then turned and left, not even sparing another glance at the glowing numbers or the trembling officials. As he walked out Min Li leaned over and whispered with excitement full on his face, “Almost Fifty eight billion, and not a flicker in your eye young master! You are truly the most wealthiest heaven's child!.”

Jin Yu smirked faintly, brushing his hair back. “What’s the point of being rich if you can’t make others feel poor?

As Jin Yu walked toward the exit with Min Lei and Haozi behind him, the auction staff stepped aside in full deference. Whispers echoed behind him—muttered names, questions of lineage, and disbelief at how far someone could go with wealth and backing alone.

Down below, the nobles watched with dark expressions from the lower floors. They could only grit their teeth as Jin Yu left without so much as a backward glance.
