Kai Hart’s life wasn’t exactly the stuff of legends.
Average student…
Mediocre grades.
He had a couple of buddies he pyed online video games with, and a routine so dull he sometimes wondered if he was stuck in a low-budget simution.
One morning, as usual, he hopped on the bus to university, earbuds in, staring bnkly out a rain-streaked window.
The engine’s rumble and the passengers’ chatter had him half-dozing—until…
BAM!
A deafening crash, a violent lurch, and everything went bck. He didn’t even have time to scream.
His st thought was:
“Shit, what the hell’s going on?”
But when he opened his eyes, the first thing he felt was confusion.
He wasn’t on the bus, or in a hospital, or even in some afterlife with angels strumming harps.
No, he was sprawled face-down on something soft, like he’d crash-nded on a plush carpet.
He blinked a couple of times, trying to focus, and what he saw left his jaw hanging open.
He was in a room… but not just any room. It was like something ripped straight out of a fairy tale—or, more accurately, those light novels he secretly read in css.
Stone walls carved with golden details, red velvet curtains cascading from a towering ceiling, dark wooden furniture with glowing inys, all lit by a massive chandelier dangling overhead.
It screamed luxury, but not the modern, eccentric-millionaire kind—more like medieval opulence, as if he’d been yeeted back centuries.
What really made him frown and scratch his head, though, was the size of everything.
It was gigantic!
The bed at the far end of the room looked bigger than his entire apartment, the chairs could’ve doubled as thrones for Titans, and that chandelier?
If it fell, it wouldn’t just crush him—it’d probably leave a crater.
Kai stumbled to his feet, wide-eyed, taking it all in, and muttered to himself:
“What the hell is this? Am I dreaming or what?”
He pinched his arm hard, hoping to wake up in his messy bed with the arm bring.
Nothing.
The pinch stung, left a red mark on his pale skin, and the scene didn’t budge an inch.
He pinched again, harder this time, letting out a little: “Ow!” that echoed in the empty room.
Frowning, arms crossed, he started pacing in circles, mumbling:
“No, no, no. This can’t be real. What if…?”
Then, like a lightbulb flicking on, he froze.
He’d read too many reincarnation stories not to suspect it.
With a mix of curiosity and skepticism, he raised his voice and said hesitantly:
“Status?”
And there it was.
Right before his eyes, like someone flipped on an invisible holographic screen, a glowing window popped up with bright letters.
Kai stumbled back, tripping over his own feet and nding on his ass on the carpet. He gaped at the window, reading aloud in a whisper:
Name: Kai Hart
Level: 1
Css: None
HP: 100/100
MP: 100/100
[Attributes]
Strength: 5
Endurance: 300
Agility: 6
Intelligence: 10
[Skills]
Regeneration Lv. 1 (0%)
For a moment, he just sat there, processing it.
Then a nervous giggle slipped out, quickly turning into full-blown ughter. Clutching his stomach with one hand and wiping a tear with the other, he choked out between chuckles:
“No way! Seriously? A status window like in a video game? This has to be a dream, but damn, it’s got some next-level detail!”
He sprang up, still ughing, and started inspecting the window closer, like it was some weird bug.
The numbers caught his eye.
Strength 5, agility 6—pretty standard for a couch-potato student like him.
Intelligence 10, well, at least he wasn’t a total moron.
But then he hit endurance.
300?
Three-freaking-hundred?
He blinked at it, like staring would make it change.
“Endurance 300? What am I, a human tank or something?” he muttered, scratching his chin.
He spped his cheek—not so much to check if he was awake, but just to do something—and started pacing the room again, still processing.
If this was a fantasy world, like those animes and novels he loved, then… what was the catch?
Was some smug god about to pop up and hand him a quest?
Or maybe a loudmouth girl to ruin his day?
'But this doesn’t add up… if this is reincarnation, shouldn’t I be in a forest or something? This feels off,' he thought, baffled.
He was so lost in his head that he almost missed the prickling feeling on the back of his neck—like someone was watching him.
That gut instinct that says you’re not alone.
Heart picking up speed, he turned his head slowly, eyes nding on the giant bed at the far end of the room.
There, nestled among a pile of pillows and silk sheets, was a girl.
No, not just any girl.
She was… huge!
From his angle, she looked like a Titan straight out of a myth, with short golden hair falling in messy strands across her face and purple eyes staring at him with a mix of surprise and curiosity.
Kai froze, like time had hit pause.
The girl tilted her head slightly, frowning, her lips moving faintly as if muttering to herself.
She looked young, probably his age, with pale skin that glowed against her vivid eyes, wearing a white nightgown with gold embroidery that screamed “royalty” from a mile away.
“W-what…?” Kai stammered, stepping back without realizing it.
The girl blinked, snapping out of whatever daze she was in, and leaned forward, resting her hands on the edge of the bed.
The mattress creaked under her weight, and the floor trembled just a little.
She pointed at him and spoke, her voice clear but tinged with awe:
“Hey! What are you? How’d you get in here?”
Kai opened his mouth to reply, but all that came out was a choked noise, like he’d swallowed his own tongue.
She frowned harder, narrowing her eyes, and leaned closer, her face filling most of his view.
Her golden strands swayed with the movement, and he caught a faint whiff of vender.
“Speak already! Don’t tell me you’re another one of those weird pests my brother sent to mess with me,” she said, crossing her arms impatiently.
Her tone was commanding, but there was a hint of exasperation, like she was used to dealing with nonsense daily.
Kai swallowed hard, raising his hands in surrender.
“W-wait, hold up! I’m not a pest, I’m… I’m…” He paused, realizing he had no clue how to expin it.
But since he still thought this might be a dream, he went for broke.
“I’m a human! Kai, my name’s Kai. And… uh… where am I?”
She stared at him for a few seconds, like she was deciding whether to buy his story.
Then a crooked grin spread across her face, and she let out a short, dry ugh that bounced around the room.
“A human? You? Don’t make me ugh! Humans aren’t that… tiny.” She gestured with her hand, measuring his size between her fingers, then covered her mouth to stifle another chuckle.
Kai felt his cheeks heat up from sheer embarrassment.
“Hey, I’m not tiny! You’re the one who’s ridiculously huge!” he shot back, pointing at her with a shaky finger.
That only made her ugh harder, leaning back and smacking the bed with her palm.
“Huge? Please! I’m perfectly normal. You’re the one who looks like a little action figure.”
Kai clenched his fists, taking a deep breath to keep from losing it.
“Chill. This is a fantasy world, right? Maybe everyone’s a giant here, and you’re the oddball,” he reasoned, trying to make sense of it.
He gnced around again, clocking the room’s details: a desk cluttered with scrolls, a decorative sword on the wall, a massive mirror reflecting her imposing figure.
It all screamed medieval, but with a weird twist.
“Whatever, I don’t know how I got here,” he said finally, crossing his arms and trying to sound more confident than he felt. “One second I was on a bus, the next… well, here.”
She stopped ughing and studied him with fresh interest, resting her chin on her hand.
“A bus? What’s that? Some kinda magic carriage?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Kai sighed, realizing this was going to be trickier than he thought.
“Sort of. Look, doesn’t matter. Just tell me where I am and how I get out, okay?”
She straightened up on the bed, crossing her legs with a graceful sweep that crumpled the sheets around her.
“You’re in my room, duh. Castle Valderia, to be precise. I’m Princess Iris, third in line to the throne—though nobody cares about that,” she started proudly, her tone fading into a grumble by the end.
Then she smirked again, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
“And getting out… well, that depends on whether you entertain me enough to not toss you to the guards.”
Kai stared at her, heart in his throat, one word echoing in his mind:
'Shit.'
