The light from the array of monitors against the conference room wall pollutes a dimly lit space, occupied only by three individuals who sit apart from each other around a large oak wood conference table. A coyote on the left side of the table, twisting and turning the sides of a Rubik's Cube with one paw while his attention is solely on the monitors. He wears a colorful jacket and a fishnet top. An older snow leopard, dressed professionally under a lab coat on the right side of the table, scrolling through graphs and meters on a laptop, paying no attention to the monitors on the wall. And a deer sitting in the middle between the coyote and the snow leopard. His fur is dyed so that both sides of his face are two different colors; magenta on his left and cyan on his right. He wears a black tactical uniform with a glowing shield over his left chest. The deer has a laptop with two smaller screens attached to it on the conference table, but his attention is aimed solely at one of the monitors up on the wall, showing a group of three mammals. A raccoon, a wolf, and a cat, getting along and talking about what the cat would look nice in. It's the cat's first day here, and the operators like to keep a close eye on the newcomers, especially the cat known as Adrian Stripes.

"He seems like he's calmed down some, wouldn't you think guys?" the coyote asks, fidgeting with his Rubik's Cube.

"Don't let that fool you, Saint Flora. He didn't meet the qualifications to be here." the snow leopard says before breaking his focus from his laptop to the deer sitting to his left. "But Saint Pastel decided it was worth the risk of having the project exposed."

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

Saint Flora nods and looks at the deer, Saint Pastel, and says, "Perhaps. Although I have faith in Pastel. He made the decision to bring Adrian here and it looks like it's paying off for him. He's happy here. Beats getting kicked by a bunch of D&D nerds."

The snow leopard glares at Saint Flora, sternly telling him, "He had money, he had connections still. There were at least two people that would have given him shelter for the night. He had enough cash for three nights at a Marriott. And on top of that, he had more will to leave than any resident who entered Stratosylum." standing up, he loudly tells the others, "He- Is- Dangerous!"

Saint Pastel extends his right arm towards the snow leopard, telling him, "Calm down, Saint Ocean." lowering his hoof. "He has every right to be here after what's been done to him over the last year. If it's the project you're worried about being exposed, I don't see any reason he would expose us should he find the emergency exit."

"And what makes you think that?" Saint Ocean asks him.

"For starters, Who do you think he's going to expose us to? Also, I don't believe exposing us is his intention" Saint Pastel says.

"It sounds like he wants to release everyone from Stratosylum." Saint Flora tells them as his fingers flick the sides of his Rubik's Cube.

Saint Pastel chuckles, telling him, "I really hope that's not his intention. Otherwise, he will be severely disappointed if he finds the exit."

Saint Ocean scoffs and stands up out of his seat, looking down at Saint pastel.

"If, and I mean IF, someone were to escape from Stratosylum before we get the okay for phase three, what's going to happen? What's Director Saseum going to do?" Saint Ocean asks.

Looking at Saint Ocean, Saint Pastel responds, "I am his lieutenant. If something happens to a resident and Director Saseum becomes involved, I will deal with him."
