Val POV (first person Point of view)
As Letacia leads us to her workpce, Eclipsara skipped happily beside me.
Eclipsara whispered eagerly, "We are gonna see our fortunes! Isn't it so exciting?!"
I whispered back, amused. "You already are excited, huh?"
She ginned."Obviously"
Letacia stopped suddenly. "Ah....we are here."
As Eclipsara and I then looked at what was in front of us, we see a small shop that has a purple and bck color scheme on it stating 'Divination and Fortune telling work shop'.
Letacia answered what we were thinking in our heads. "This is my shop. It provides materials and tools for those who wish to study divination or fortune-telling. I also schedule appointments for those who seek insight into their future. You could say… I’m something of a teacher in the art of divination."
Eclipsara's visible eye widened in awe. "Wow! That must be amazing! Isnt it, Val?"
I agreed. "Yep...its certainily amazing to lead a shop that not only give materials about divination, but also teaching it as well. It must be alot of hard work."
Letacia ughed. "Ah, thank you both. Its just a way for me to make extra money, thats all."
Letacia went in front of her own store and opened the door with a key. "Please come in. No one will come in today since the store is technically closed because its a weekend."
Eclipsara and I followed her in, taking in the various tools and items dispyed neatly on shelves. Rows of tarot cards lined the walls, alongside candles, crystal balls, and books detailing the extensive art of fortune-telling.
Eclipsara and I muttered a simple 'Wow' as we looked at the items that surround us.
Letacia chuckled at out reactions before leading us to another room. When we saw the room, the first thing that came to mind is that it indeed felt a fortune tellers work like you read in books. As in the room there was a small table sat at the center, surrounded by candlelight. A stack of tarot cards and a crystal ball rested on the table’s surface, giving the space the perfect air of mystery just like ones you read in novels.
Letacia then sat down on her side of the table and motioned to us both to sit on the other side of the table of where she's at.
As Eclipsara and I sat down, Letacia broke the silence.
"So have both of you decided whos going first?"
"I think Val should go."
I looked at Eclipsara with a 'huh' expression.
"Oh dont look at me like that, Val. I can be patient too you know!" Eclipsara looked at me with a pout.
I looked at her with a deadpan expression, raising an eyebrow. "Really?"
Letacia snickered at both of us talking to each other. It seems she found it funny on how Eclipsara and I interacted.
"It seems you both are quite close?" Letacia gently asked, as she smiled.
"YEP! Val and I are really close!" Eclipsara made a wide grin as she beamed happily.
"I see, I see"
Letacia gave a knowing smile before turning her gaze to me. "Alright, then. Val, step forward."
I moved closer as Letacia shuffled the deck with practiced ease.
"Would you like a general reading, or is there something specific you wish to ask?"
"A general reading is fine."
Letacia nodded and began drawing cards, pcing them carefully on the table.
Tarot Reading – ValThe first card she drew was The Fool—a traveler setting out on an unknown journey, full of possibilities and risks.
"A future filled with many paths," Letacia murmured, tapping the card lightly. "You're someone who dislikes the idea of fate being predetermined."
She looked up at me, eyes sharp yet kind.
"Rest assured, there is no single destiny carved in stone. You will carve your own path, Val. However…" She pulled another card and flipped it over.
The Tower.
Eclipsara and I tensed slightly at the sight of the crumbling tower engulfed in fmes.
"There is a great darkness in your future," Letacia stated, voice calm but firm. "Something tragic-something that will shake the foundation of your world."
I frowned, curious and worried. "Is there… anything else?"
Letacia flipped the next card.
The Star. A sign of guidance and creativity.
"Even in the darkness, you will help people. Your creativity and imagination will be your greatest assets. However…" She drew one more card.
The Hanged Man.
Letacia studied it for a long moment before speaking.
"There may come a time when your creativity-your ability to see the world differently-becomes something… incomprehensible. Useful, yet so far removed from normal understanding that others may see it as madness. The choices you make… you may not always like them, but they will be necessary."
A strange chill ran down my arms and spine, but I nodded slowly and answered calmly. "I see."
Letacia then drew another card and hesitated before revealing it.
The Lovers.
I blinked, feeling a bit caught off guard. "Wait, what?"
Letacia smiled. "In the future, someone will pursue you—a love so strong, so obsessive, that they will make you theirs. No matter what path you take, they will always find you."
Eclipsara's gaze flickered, but she said nothing.
Letacia, still smiling, put the deck back together. "That concludes your reading, Val."
Tarot Reading – EclipsaraEclipsara leaned forward eagerly, eyes gleaming with anticipation. "My turn!"
Letacia chuckled softly. "Alright then, let’s see what the cards reveal for you."
She shuffled the deck once more before pulling the first card.
The Emperor"A natural-born leader," Letacia mused, gazing at the card. "You are destined to take charge, to guide others. No matter which path you take, this truth remains unshaken."
Eclipsara smirked and looked at me. "Well, that sounds about right."
Letacia drew the next card.
The Chariot"You are someone who pursues what you want with unwavering determination," Letacia said, her tone carrying an underlying weight. "This applies not only to your ambitions but also… to love."
Eclipsara’s expression didn’t change, but there was a certain gleam in her eyes.
Letacia tapped her fingers against the card. "You will take a certain love interest, Eclipsara. Someone who, in all possibilities, will become yours—no matter what obstacles stand in your way."
I felt an odd unease at those words, though I wasn’t sure why. Letacia didn’t specify who, yet there was something about Eclipsara’s subtle, knowing smile that made me uneasy.
I gnced at her, but she simply rested her chin on her hand, looking quite pleased with herself.
Letacia’s gaze flickered between us, but she made no further comment. Instead, she drew the next card.
The Ten of WandsEclipsara’s grin faltered. "What's that?"
Letacia’s expression darkened slightly. "A great burden—one that you will carry for the sake of others. Leadership is never without its costs, and your path is riddled with responsibility. Heavy responsibility."
Eclipsara’s pyful demeanor shifted. "Go on."
Letacia traced a finger along the card. "This burden… it is tied to those you lead, but also to something far deeper. A weight so great that it will darken your path."
Eclipsara’s gaze lowered for a brief moment before she sighed. "Well, I suppose that makes sense. If I lead, I have to take responsibility, right?"
Letacia nodded but didn’t speak immediately. Instead, she drew another card.
The LoversMy breath stopped slightly. That card again? Whats the deal with the lovers Card for both Eclipsara and me??!
Letacia’s lips curled into a knowing smile. "Interesting… this confirms what I saw earlier. The love you take will be absolute. In all infinite possibilities, this person will belong to you."
Eclipsara tapped the table. "And who is this person?"
Letacia chuckled. "That… is for you to figure out. But I have a feeling...you may already know"
I saw the way Eclipsara’s fingers twitched slightly, her expression unreadable. Eclipsara then hummed in amusement. "I think I already do."
Letacia pced her hands on the deck again. "One st card, to glimpse what awaits you beyond leadership and love."
She drew the final card.
The DevilSilence filled the room.
Eclipsara tilted her head, staring at the eerie imagery-the depiction of two figures bound by chains, trapped yet seemingly willing to be so.
Letacia’s expression was unreadable. "This… is a warning."
Eclipsara smirked. "Of course, it is."
Letacia exhaled softly. "You will wield great influence over others. Whether through leadership… or through love."
She gnced at me briefly, then continued.
"This card does not mean evil, but it does suggest obsession, control, and a future where you may bind yourself-and others-to an unshakable fate or future."
Eclipsara’s smirk deepened, but she said nothing.
Letacia leaned back, folding her hands. "In the end, it will be your decision. Whether this fate is one of light or darkness...or maybe both...or none and something else… that choice is yours to make."
Eclipsara exhaled and stretched. "Well! That was an experience."
Letacia simply smiled.
The reading had started as something intriguing, but by the end, it felt like something far more significant had been revealed—something we were only beginning to understand. It cant be that deep....can it?
Eclipsara gnced at me, a glint in her eyes. "Well, Val… what do you think? Pretty cool, huh?"
I nodding before replying back my honest thoughts. "Yeah… it is pretty cool."
But deep down, I couldn’t shake the feeling that alot of things were going to happen. And I wasn’t sure if I was ready for what was coming.
But, despite it all I enjoyed the tarot card reading. It was a new experience for me personally.
Eclipsara stretched her arms above her head as we stepped out into the cool evening air. The sun had begun to set, casting a golden-orange glow over the streets of Velmoria. The once-bustling roads were now calmer, conversations of people passing by, filled the air.
"Well, that was fun!" Eclipsara beamed, walking beside me. "I’d say my fortune was pretty good, wouldn’t you?"
I gnced at her, but smiled. "You’re seriously happy about getting a warning that you’ll be carrying some heavy burden?"
She smirked. "Hey, as long as I get what I want, I’ll deal with the rest."
Something about the way she said that made me pause, but I shook the feeling away. "Well, you sure got an interesting reading. That ‘love interest’ thing was sort of vague, though."
Eclipsara chuckled, her ruby eye gleaming under the fading light. "Oh, I think I have an idea."
I looked at her with raised eyebrows. "Huh?"
"Nothing, nothing~" she waved me off. "Anyway, what about your reading? You didn’t look too happy when Letacia mentioned your creativity being twisted."
I let out a small sigh. "I was happy with majority of it, but I mean… the creativity part was a bit...unnerving, don’t you think? Being told that my imagination might turn into something incomprehensible?"
Eclipsara tilted her head. "It could be a good thing, you know. Maybe you’ll just think in a way no one else can."
"Or maybe I’ll go absolutely crazy. Who knows?"
She snorted. "Well, if that happens, I’ll keep you in check. Can’t have you losing your mind, now can I?"
I chuckled. "Right… thanks, Eclipsara.
"Anytime....now...lets go get some FOOD!"
I facepalm and sighed as we walked,"You have been wating to get some food from a restaurant for a while now havent you?"
"Yes"
"Fine. Lets go! This is still a make up birthday day!"
Eclipsara gave a scream of delight.
"HECK YEAH!"
???(third person point of view
As Val and Eclipsara left the store, Letacia watched from afar inside the shop.
Inside the now-empty shop, Letacia leaned back in her chair, exhaling softly. The flickering candlelight cast shadows across the wooden walls, giving the space an eerie, night-like stillness in the room she was in.
Her fingers traced absentmindedly along the tarot cards, yet she made no move to shuffle them again.
Her golden eyes flickered with something unreadable.
"Fortune-telling works on them," she murmured, "yet it is like peering through a veil of mist. There is a limit. A point beyond which nothing can be seen."
She stared down at the cards that once revealed endless possibilities but now y bnk before her-like a book with missing pages.
She narrowed her eyes. "It’s as if… after a certain point, even fate itself dares not gaze upon them."
The candlelight flickered. The air grew heavy.
Letacia stood from her chair, and then walked over to a tattored book on the shelf in one of her rooms. A book in which she wrote in, back when she was an researcher of the unknown and incomprehensible. The book contained records of ancient texts, cryptic warnings, and one prophecy she had written down thirty years ago. She and many others had tried to research it. It had been discovered near the Tree of Life, given by a being so incomprehensible that schors still debated whether it was divine… or something else entirely.
Letacia thought she had left behind her past and everything. But today, she felt an instinctive urge to look at the prophecy after meeting Val and Eclipsara for some reason.
As Letacia finally reached the page she had wanted to see. She read out loud in the darkness of her room.
"One, a murderer, whose hand will unleash death upon beings thought immortal—those beyond comprehension, those blessed by the universe itself."
"One, a monarch, bound by a crown too heavy to bear, destined to lead when all else has fallen to ruin."
"And one, a madman, whose actions will shatter the course of history, birthing the start of a world so twisted, so impossible, that the past shall be forever lost."
Letacia allowed the silence of her room to come back for a moment before thinking on something else.
27-28 years ago, a mysterious figure had done something impossible-killing a an entity that could not be killed. An extraordinarily powerful hero, blessed by every force in the universe itself. A warrior so blessed and powerful that none could even dream of killing him even if the whole world itself were to fight against him alone. It was said that this hero could fight the incomprehensible, the unimaginable, and that he was blessed with the ability to return to life no matter how many times he perished. He could adapt, evolve, and win against every foe unimaginable with all the blessings he was given. And this very hero....was killed.
Only a very few people know about the prophacy. But at the time, those people who knew about the prophecy-including Letacia-at the time had all come to the same conclusion:
The murderer was the one that killed the hero.
But for 28 years, none of the other figures mentioned in the prophacy had appeared.
No activity in the world, nor any event that drastically changed the entire world, had occurred. There had been wars, but none were significant enough to match the scale of change implied by the prophecy itself.
And thus, Letacia had come to believe that the prophecy was a half truth and a half lie.
Yet.....her instincts told her something crazy will happen in a few years. But what?
Letacia calmly sat down and drank tea. She then let out a voice in the dark.
"Another crazy thing may happen soon"
Letacia smiled, and decided to think of it ter. Only focusing on enjoying the rest of her day.
