Chapter 71: Uninvited Intrusion

The four-armed minotaur continued charging toward Jason, launching attacks at him. Jason desperately flew upward, attempting to increase the distance between them and dodge the minotaur's attacks.

However, a powerful whirlwind constantly surrounded Jason, tightly entangling him. Affected by the whirlwind, Jason's flying speed was greatly reduced, making it difficult to escape from the minotaur.

Unable to shake off the minotaur, Jason had no choice but to use his hands to block the four-armed minotaur's attacks.

With two "pap" sounds, the minotaur's two fists struck Jason's palms and were blocked. Meanwhile, the attacks from the minotaur's other two arms arrived—

Two dull "thud" sounds followed as the fists from the minotaur's other two arms heavily struck Jason's chest and abdomen, knocking him down from mid-air. Jason coughed up a pool of fresh blood with a "wah" sound, struggling to get up from the ground.

"It's useless. Only your palms possess the ability to deflect attacks. At most, you can block two attacks, but A-Niu has four arms. You can't block all his attacks," the masked figure standing at a distance said mockingly.

"Damn it..." Jason cast a hateful glance at the masked figure. Despite his resentment, he couldn't refute the statement.

The minotaur continued rushing toward Jason, launching a storm of attacks. Jason desperately tried to fly away, wanting to shake off the minotaur, but wherever he flew, a powerful whirlwind followed, severely affecting his mobility and making it difficult to escape the minotaur through flight.

The minotaur's fists rained down on Jason's body like raindrops. Jason frantically used his palms to block them, but as the masked figure had said, Jason could only block two attacks simultaneously and couldn't cope with the four-armed minotaur. He was repeatedly struck by the minotaur's punches, beaten until dizzy and bleeding profusely from his mouth.

From a distance, the rebel crowd was extremely shocked seeing Jason being violently beaten by the minotaur. Their mouths hung open, unable to close.

"Damn, that minotaur monster is so fierce, beating Jason like an adult beats a child, giving him no chance to fight back."

"That Jason wasn't even afraid of armored soldiers, yet he's being beaten like a dog by that monster, running all over the place. It's fucking ridiculous."

"What's the deal with that minotaur and the person in the black cloak? Are they on our side?"

"Probably not. We shouldn't have such people in our rebel forces."

"That's strange then. If they're not from our rebel forces, why would they help us?"

"Who cares about all that? I just hope they finish off Jason quickly so we can be saved."

As the rebels discussed among themselves, suddenly a somewhat unfamiliar young male voice came through the rebels' communicator: "Listen carefully, rebels. If you want to defeat the Sanctuary and save your people, all of you need to follow my commands and do as I say!"

"Who are you? How did you get into our communication?" The bald man with a scar harshly reprimanded through the communicator, not recognizing the voice and suspecting it might be a spy from the Sanctuary.

"You guys have forgotten me so quickly. Don't you remember the person who crashed your secret meeting five days ago in the basement of Daidong Hotel in Haitian Town?"

"The one who crashed our meeting?" The bald scarred man tried hard to recall, then suddenly remembered something and exclaimed, "It's you! You're the assassin who tried to kill Governor Su Wen!"

"Hehe, so you do remember me after all."

The bald scarred man shouted, "You little punk, we haven't settled the score from last time, and now you're here causing trouble again. We don't have time for you, get lost!"

"Is that really what you want? If you're not willing to follow my commands, then I'll leave with the four-armed minotaur."

"Wait, you mentioned the four-armed minotaur..." The bald scarred man looked puzzledly at the minotaur who was beating Jason, then at the black-cloaked masked figure beside the small truck. Suddenly he realized something and exclaimed, "Could it be that the black-cloaked masked person is you?!"

"That's right. Let me be clear: without my help, you will definitely be defeated by the Sanctuary and all die here. I'm giving you one more chance—are you willing to follow my commands or not?"

"Well, um..." The bald scarred man felt very embarrassed. He wanted to agree but couldn't bring himself to do so. The others remained silent too. They all knew clearly that this masked figure was their only hope. Without this masked stranger's help, they would all die here today.

At this moment, Captain Guan's voice came through the communicator: "I understand. We'll do as Ru... as you say. Everyone listen up, I'm Captain Guan. From now on, all of you will follow what that voice just said. From now on, he is your commander."

"Fine, if Captain Guan says so, then that's what we'll do," said the bald scarred man. Though he held prejudice against the masked figure, he had to compromise to save his life.

"I hope you really have a way to defeat the Sanctuary and aren't just boasting."

"Just tell us what you want us to do. As long as we can take down those Sanctuary bastards, we're in."

The other rebels had no objections either. After all, they had witnessed Jason being beaten helplessly by the minotaur, and they had no other way out. At this point, trusting this masked figure was their only option.
