Chapter 55: Evil Intentions Arise

While Rulu was pondering how to sneak into the mansion, he noticed a young man wearing a white hat and loose white chef's uniform appearing in the distance, pushing a small cart slowly towards the villa garden.

"Hmm, this person seems to be going to that house. I can use this to my advantage." Rulu stared at the young man in white, forming a plan.

A few minutes later, a young man wearing a white hat, dressed in a white chef's uniform, and with a white mask on his face pushed a food cart to the front door of the mansion. A guard at the door immediately shouted at him fiercely: "Why are you delivering the food so late? Governor and Feihu General have been waiting for a long time. Do you want to starve them?"

The young man in white spoke in a hoarse voice, saying softly: "I'm sorry, the ingredients were difficult to prepare, which caused a slight delay."

The guard said impatiently: "Alright, hand everything over to me. I'll take it inside."

The young man hesitated: "But Feihu General said I should deliver it to them personally."

"What? I haven't heard about this." The guard said in surprise.

The white-clothed man stared into the guard's eyes and said: "Think again. Perhaps Feihu General told you, but you forgot."

"Oh, I remember now, that's right." The guard paused as if he had just remembered something. He walked to the front door of the mansion, opened it, turned around, and said to the young man in white: "Feihu General and the Governor are on the second floor. Deliver the food to them and leave immediately, understand?"

"I understand," the young man said softly, pushing the cart into the mansion.

After entering the mansion, the young man quickly looked around. After confirming that no one was nearby, he pushed the cart to a secluded corner inside the mansion, took off the white coat and hat, and put on a white smiling face mask. This man was Rulu disguised as a delivery person. The real delivery person had been knocked unconscious by Rulu and hidden in the bushes outside the mansion.

Rulu went up to the second floor via the stairs in the hall, carefully moving through the corridor on the second floor, trying to find Governor Su Wen and Feihu General. The second floor was as empty as the first floor, without a single person. Suddenly, a male voice came from a room with a partially closed door: "Feihu General, have you found out any news about that assassin?"

Hearing this voice, Rulu's spirits lifted as he recognized it as Governor Su Wen's voice. To avoid alarming them, Rulu didn't rashly approach the room but hid behind a corner at some distance, patiently waiting.

"No, Governor, there's no definite news about the assassin yet. However, I have assigned more people to investigate. I believe it won't be long before we get concrete intelligence on the assassin." A gruff voice said. Rulu recognized it as Feihu General's voice.

Governor Su Wen's voice said: "Feihu General, I remember you said the same thing a few days ago. But after all this time, why is there still no intelligence? Are you taking this matter seriously?"

"Governor, I have been trying my best to investigate, but that assassin is too cunning and has been hiding. That's why there's no news. However, it doesn't matter. In five days, we will execute those captured rebel organization members. At that time, the assassin will definitely take action, and then we can find and capture him."

"I hope so. If the assassin isn't caught, I can't sleep peacefully. If something like last time happens again, your career as a general will be over, hmm," Governor Su Wen said sinisterly.

"I understand. I have strengthened the security around the house. That assassin absolutely cannot get in. You can rest assured, Governor."

"Very well, you may leave now. I want to prepare for rest."

"Yes, I'll be in the room next to yours, Governor. If anything happens, just press the alarm switch, and I'll arrive immediately."

Then a door on the second floor opened, and a bald, muscular man in uniform walked out of the room, closed the door behind him, and entered another room next door.

"Good, the opportunity has come. This time, I won't give you any chance to survive like last time." A cold smile appeared at the corner of Rulu's mouth as he hid in the shadows. He took out a handgun from his body, attached a silencer, quietly approached the door of Governor Su Wen's room, grabbed the doorknob, and turned it gently. With a "creak," the door slowly opened.

"The door isn't even locked. Now you're dead for sure!" Rulu was extremely delighted. He pushed the door open, quickly entered the room, and saw a person lying sideways on a bed, covered with a blanket, in the spacious and bright room. Since Rulu had heard Governor Su Wen's voice speaking earlier, he believed the person on the bed was Governor Su Wen. He immediately raised his gun and shot at the person lying on the bed.

With several soft "puff" sounds, the person lying on the bed covered with a blanket was hit by bullets, creating several holes in the blanket. However, strangely, although the person on the bed was hit by bullets, they still lay motionless, not making any sound, and the areas hit by the bullets didn't bleed.

"What's going on? The person on the bed doesn't seem to be Governor Su Wen." Rulu felt something was wrong. He waved his hand, summoning a gust of wind towards the bed in the room. The blanket on the bed was blown away, revealing a wooden dummy underneath. Near the dummy was a small black box with a flashing red light. When the blanket was removed, the frequency of the red light flashing rapidly increased.

"Not good, it's a trap!" Rulu suddenly realized. He quickly left the room. Just as he walked out of the room door, he heard a loud "bang." The black box on the bed exploded violently. The blast wave from the explosion rushed out of the door, blowing Rulu seven or eight meters away, knocking him to the floor.
