Chapter 21: Three Mages

"Come out, you despicable fellow. I've already seen you," the white-robed elderly man said loudly. He observed his surroundings intently, trying to find the person who had attacked him. However, the lighting in the tunnel wasn't very good, and despite looking for quite a while, he couldn't locate his attacker.

"Grand Mage, those people are getting away. What should we do now?" The middle-aged white-robed man grew anxious as he saw the rebels escaping further away.

After a brief thought, the white-haired elderly man said, "These people know our identities. We can't let them leave. Go stop them."

The middle-aged white-robed man acknowledged and immediately began pursuing the rebels, silver staff in hand.

Suddenly, a howling gale appeared out of nowhere, forming a violent whirlwind that picked up numerous stone fragments from the ground and hurled them at the middle-aged white-robed man who was chasing the rebels.

Caught in the whirlwind, the middle-aged white-robed man's body was constantly struck by stone fragments. His clothes and skin were torn by the rocks, leaving traces of blood on his face and body. He crouched down, hugging himself and emitting painful cries, completely unable to chase after the rebels.

"It seems we must first deal with this other magic Ultra-capable besides ourselves. Otherwise, we really can't pursue these people," the white-haired elderly man said. He waved his hand, and another whirlwind appeared from thin air, colliding with the one that had ensnared the middle-aged white-robed man. The two whirlwinds rotated in completely opposite directions, and upon colliding, they both dissipated into the air.

"Typically, a magic Ultra-capable's casting range is only thirty to forty meters. That fellow should be nearby," the white-robed elderly man muttered to himself, carefully examining the area within thirty to forty meters of the middle-aged white-robed man.

Suddenly, the white-robed elderly man's gaze stopped on a broken armored vehicle. He shook his gold staff, and the armored vehicle rose into the air, hovering three to four meters above the ground. Behind the armored vehicle appeared a slender silhouette.

"Hehehe, finally found you," the white-robed elderly man's face showed joy as he directly controlled the hovering, broken armored vehicle to crash toward the slender silhouette.

The wind howled, and a violent gale formed beside the slender silhouette. With the propulsive force of the gale, the figure's feet left the ground, quickly flying toward the dark area of the cave and disappearing into the shadowy darkness. The half armored vehicle crashed heavily to the ground, missing the person.

"Oh? You can ride the wind and fly? Quite skilled indeed. But escaping from my grasp won't be so easy," the white-haired elderly man's face showed slight surprise. He waved his hand, and a ball of white light appeared at the position where the silhouette had vanished, illuminating the surrounding environment.

In the white light's radiance, a black-haired young man wearing black clothes with his back against the rock wall appeared in the white-robed elderly man's vision. This young man was none other than Rulu.

"I didn't expect someone so young. What's your name? Are you from Sanctuary?" the white-haired elderly man questioned Rulu, trying to discover his identity.

"Hmph, what nonsense about Sanctuary? Never heard of it," Rulu said coldly.

"What a pity. With such good abilities, if you joined Sanctuary, you would certainly have a bright future. Alas, what a pity, what a pity..." the white-haired elderly man kept shaking his head, appearing very regretful.

Rulu rebuked, "Stop pretending. If you want something, just say it directly."

"Since you're not from Sanctuary, I don't need to have any reservations. Come, child, let me send you on your way," the white-haired elderly man said calmly. He waved his golden staff, and the boulder nearly four meters in diameter that had been used earlier hovered in the air again, flying rapidly toward Rulu.

Rulu directly summoned a gale, and with its propulsive force, his feet left the ground as he flew swiftly through the spacious underground cavern, evading the boulder's attack.

The white-haired elderly man controlled the boulder to chase Rulu relentlessly. Although the boulder was powerful and fast, its agility was far inferior to Rulu's. The boulder constantly crashed into the ground near Rulu and the surrounding rock walls. Despite attacking Rulu for quite some time, the white-haired elderly man could never strike him.

"Good, very good indeed. It seems I must get serious," the white-robed elderly man spoke words of praise, his expression gradually becoming more solemn.

With a "whoosh," another boulder about two meters in diameter in the cavern also flew up, heading toward Rulu. The two boulders, one in front and one behind, simultaneously attacked Rulu—one boulder chasing him from behind, the other circling to Rulu's front to block his escape route.

"Tsk, how troublesome," Rulu frowned, concentrating more intensely on his wind flight. With a "swoosh," one boulder grazed past Rulu's shoulder, lightly brushing his left shoulder. Although it was just a light brush, Rulu felt as if he had been hit by a car. His body was propelled more than two meters away by the boulder, and a sharp pain emanated from his left shoulder.

"This won't work. I must escape from them," Rulu's forehead dripped with cold sweat as he felt his bone was almost broken. He wanted to flee far from these two white-robed men but thought this would endanger Captain Guan, Nana, and the others.

"I've got it. I'll escape in another direction. This way, even if they chase me, it won't matter," Rulu thought. Enduring the pain in his left shoulder, he rode the wind, passing over the heads of the two white-robed men, and flew rapidly in the opposite direction of the underground tunnel exit.

"He's trying to escape! Stop him!" The white-haired elderly man detected Rulu's intention and immediately shouted. The other middle-aged white-robed man raised his silver staff.

A violent gust of wind appeared out of nowhere, blowing toward Rulu. In mid-flight, Rulu was caught by this sudden gale, his body tilted, and he immediately lost control of his flight direction, flying in another direction.

With a "bang," Rulu's body crashed into the small truck's cargo compartment and stopped. A boulder caught up and flew toward Rulu. He hurriedly dodged to the side, and with a "thud," the boulder hit the cargo compartment, crashing into the truck and creating a large hole.

"This doesn't look good. We need to finish him quickly; otherwise, things will get complicated," the white-haired elderly man's face showed anxiety as he sternly said to the middle-aged white-robed man beside him: "Control him for me. Don't give him any chance to escape."

"Yes, Grand Mage!" The middle-aged white-robed man agreed. With a serious expression, he faced Rulu and raised both hands high. The wind howled, and a strong gust appeared above Rulu's head, pressing down on him from above.

Instantly, Rulu felt an astonishing wind force pressing down from above. Under the powerful wind pressure, Rulu's waist bent downward. He fell heavily to the ground, feeling as if he carried a thousand-pound weight on his back, making it difficult to move and impossible to ride the wind and fly anymore.
