Chapter 13: The Governors Blockade

"Hey, there seems to be something ahead?" Suddenly someone noticed something and shouted loudly.

"Let me take a look." Captain Guan took out his binoculars and looked toward the distant tunnel entrance ahead. His face immediately changed, and he shouted, "Stop! Stop quickly!"

The two armored vehicles and the red armored trooper all stopped. A-Bing, not understanding the situation, asked, "We're almost there. Why are we stopping?"

Captain Guan, while observing the area ahead with his binoculars, said gravely, "Sanctuary troops are ahead. They're guarding the underground tunnel entrance, blocking the road to it."

"No way, how did these guys appear here?" A-Bing asked in surprise.

Rulu said, "It seems they already knew we would try to escape through the underground tunnel, so they set up an ambush in advance. How many of them are there?"

Captain Guan replied, "About six vehicles, thirty to forty regular soldiers, four armored troopers, and one of the armored troopers is black."

Rulu pondered, "That's quite a force to deal with. Are there any other underground tunnel entrances nearby?"

"No, the nearest entrance would take at least an hour to reach. We probably can't get there."

A-Bing waved his right hand and pounded the armored car hard, exclaiming, "Damn it, what do we do now? We can't possibly defeat so many people?!"

"It's fine," Kallen said confidently. "Let me handle them. Apart from those four armored troopers, there's nothing to worry about."

Captain Guan asked, "Do you need our help?"

"No, if they attack you, I'd have to look out for you too."

"That's true. Alright then, Kallen, be careful," Captain Guan said. Although he didn't want Kallen to venture alone, he knew that even if they went together, they wouldn't be much help and might actually hinder Kallen.

Suddenly, a rough male voice came from the direction of the underground tunnel entrance: "You rebel scum since you've already come this far, why not come forward and die?"

Hearing this voice, Captain Guan, Rulu, and the others were startled. They recognized the voice as coming from the Governor who had killed Mayor Qiao earlier.

Rulu's gaze suddenly turned vicious. With a dark face, he said, "That guy, that bastard is also there?!"

Captain Guan said, "It must be him. It looks like he wants to deal with us personally."

The angry expression on Rulu's face disappeared, replaced by a sinister smile: "Good, very good. I didn't go looking for him, but he's delivered himself to us. Hahaha..."

As Rulu laughed, he stood up from the car. At that moment, a warm hand grabbed his hand. Rulu turned to look and saw Nana gazing at him with a worried expression.

"Rulu, what are you planning to do? Don't leave me. I can't lose you too," Nana said, looking at Rulu with tender affection.

Rulu was stunned. He had intended to personally kill the Governor to avenge Mayor Qiao and his wife, but now, with Nana's words, he didn't know what to do.

Captain Guan understood Rulu's intentions and quickly said, "Let Kallen handle that Governor. Rulu, you don't need to go personally."

Kallen also said, "Don't worry, that guy killed Mayor Qiao. I definitely won't let him go."

"Alright then," Rulu wasn't foolish and knew that his power would be insufficient against Sanctuary's armored troopers. He abandoned his previous idea and said, "If Kallen can't handle him, I'll step in and deal with him myself."

"Rest assured, you won't get a chance to step in," Kallen said as she drove the red armored trooper toward the tunnel ahead.

Soon, she arrived about thirty meters from the underground tunnel entrance. As Captain Guan had described, four armored troopers and other Sanctuary troops guarded the underground tunnel entrance, blocking the road.

"Why is it just you? Where are the others? Are they afraid to come?" The black armored trooper, seeing Kallen appear, advanced a few meters toward her. A rough male voice came from the black armored trooper's helmet.

Kallen recognized this voice as the man who had spoken earlier and challenged the black armored trooper: "Are you the Governor who killed Mayor Qiao?"

The black armored trooper emitted a "hehe" laugh and said, "That old fool not only disobeyed my orders but also colluded with you rebels, committing serious crimes. He deserved to die."

"What about you?" Kallen said angrily. "You forcibly occupy our homeland, compel us to work for you, and cause so many of us to be displaced. Aren't your actions criminal?"

The Governor snorted and said proudly, "It's natural for the strong to dominate the weak. You should feel honored to serve us."

Hearing this, Kallen didn't get angry but laughed: "In that case, if I'm stronger than you, I can kill all of you as I please."

The Governor said, "Do you think you have that ability?"

At this point, a purple armored trooper came to the Governor's side and said quietly, "Be careful, Governor. This red mech was the one who took out two of our armored troopers earlier. Her movements are fast, and her weapons are formidable. She's difficult to deal with."

"Hmph, useless thing. Get out of my way. Watch how I deal with her!" the Governor scolded harshly. He went to a nearby truck and took out a conical yellow brass spear about five to six meters long from the truck's cargo area. Looking at Kallen, he said:

"I see you have some skills, so I'll give you a special opportunity. If you surrender to us and bring all the rebels to me, I will especially pardon your crimes and allow you to join our Sanctuary. What do you think?"

"Stop wasting your breath," Kallen readied her five-fingered steel claw on her right hand and said in a deep voice, "Do you want to come at me all at once, or one by one?"

"Fool who doesn't know death. I alone am enough to handle you," the Governor said, brandishing the yellow brass conical spear and speeding toward Kallen.
