Chapter 10: Red Mecha Shadow

"Stop the car! We have to save them!" Captain Guan, seeing the danger to the car behind, shouted in panic. The two armored vehicles ahead immediately screeched to a halt.

"Captain Guan, we can't stop! We can't save them!" Rulu said urgently. Captain Guan looked at Rulu, his eyes showing hesitation.

At that moment, the two armored troopers jumped directly into the vehicle, swinging the short swords on their arms at the rebel members inside. These light swords were extremely sharp; once a rebel was struck, their body was immediately dismembered, resulting in either death or severe injury. The scene was exceptionally bloody and brutal.

The rebels were as weak as ants before these two armored troopers, powerless to resist or fight back. In less than ten seconds, more than half the people in the car were dead or injured. The remaining people screamed in terror, abandoning the vehicle and fleeing for their lives.

The three armored troopers chased these fleeing people, continuing their cruel massacre. Captain Guan and the others could only sit in their vehicles, watching helplessly as their comrades were killed. They dared not open fire for fear of hitting their own people, and besides, the armored troopers were bulletproof, so shooting would be useless.

"Let's go! If we don't leave now, it will be too late!" Rulu shouted again. Captain Guan snapped out of his trance and quickly said, "Start the cars! Let's get out of here!"

The two armored vehicles started again, continuing forward along the road, while the three armored troopers, having eliminated all the rebels, once again pursued the armored cars.

With a series of clear "bang" "bang" sounds, six barbed cables were fired from the chests of the three armored troopers. Two of the cables hit Captain Guan's car, hooking onto it firmly.

"This is bad..." Captain Guan's face turned ashen, his mind blank, unable to think of any way to counter the armored troopers' attack. The cables retracted quickly, pulling the armored car backward while the armored trooper rapidly approached, propelled by the retracting cables.

"I'll fight to the death with you!" A-Bing shouted frantically, extending his body through the roof hatch and firing the machine gun at the armored trooper. The bullets hit the armored trooper but bounced off. One bullet ricocheted back, hitting A-Bing's left arm.

A-Bing let out a scream of pain, collapsing against the roof hatch. Captain Guan quickly pulled him back into the vehicle and tightly closed the hatch.

"This is truly the end..." Rulu sighed, shaking his head and gripping Nana's hand tightly. He thought that even with his power, it would be difficult to fight against Sanctuary's armored troopers. If things came to the worst, he would have to abandon everyone else and escape with Nana, though even that was uncertain.

After approaching the vehicle, the armored trooper swung its silver short sword, cutting into the armored car's body. Dazzling sparks flew from the vehicle's body. Before long, the body was cut open, and the roof was forcibly torn off by the armored trooper, exposing everyone inside.

"I don't want to die! I haven't even gotten married yet!" A-Bing looked at the armored trooper with a face of despair, letting out a miserable wail. However, the armored trooper ignored his painful cries, raising the light sword high, about to strike down at the people in the car.

"Get away from them!" A clear female voice came from the road ahead. A red flash appeared, and a humanoid object over two meters tall rushed out at extremely high speed, crashing into the armored trooper that was about to attack the people in the car. The impact sent the trooper flying four to five meters before crashing heavily to the ground.

The people in the car were stunned. They turned to look at the red humanoid object and saw that it was a red, full-body metal-armored humanoid figure. It had special wheels at its feet that allowed for quick movement on roads—clearly a red armored trooper, though different in color and shape from Sanctuary's troopers.

"Wonderful! Our savior has arrived! We're saved!"

"I got my life back! I thought I was dead for sure just now."

Seeing the red armored trooper appear, the rebels cheered loudly. Captain Guan also breathed a sigh of relief and called out to the red armored trooper: "Is that you, Kallen?"

The red armored trooper turned to face Captain Guan, and a bright young female voice came from her facial armor: "Yes, I rushed over as soon as I received your distress signal. Good thing I made it in time."

"What do you mean 'in time'? If you had come earlier, our people wouldn't have had to die!" A-Bing, tears in his eyes, screamed while covering his injured left arm.

"What?" The red armored trooper was stunned, then seemed to realize something, looking around and asking: "Where's the other vehicle? Where did the people on it go?"

"They're all dead, killed by Sanctuary's people," Captain Guan said dejectedly, pointing at the three purple armored troopers nearby. The three purple armored troopers seemed somewhat surprised by the red armored trooper's appearance; they temporarily remained stationary, taking no further action.

"I see. So I was still too late." The red armored trooper's voice conveyed disappointment. She clenched her fists and said in a low voice: "Get away quickly. Let me deal with these Sanctuary bastards."

Captain Guan nodded, instructing the armored car driver to move away from the Sanctuary armored troopers, while saying to the red armored trooper: "Kallen, can you defeat them?"

"That's why I'm here!" The red armored trooper called Kallen said in a low, angry voice. The wheels under her feet rotated at high speed, and with a "whoosh," she charged straight toward the three purple armored troopers.
