At the heart of Cannizonts, also called The dot, there was a guy, a guy with black hair and eyes blue as sapphires, his name was Shift Nyxen, a two liner from Zone 2 who worked on a factory, his life wasn't the best but he had enough to survive.
He walked through the streets, passing trough a lot of stores and vending machines Shift stepped inside of an empty hallway, a shortcut he used to get to his job without too many struggles, he couldn't afford any kind of vehicle so the alleyway was the best option for him, exchanging safety for tranquility.
Trough streetlights, pipes, wires and the walls of other buildings he encountered someone, a shape with a hoodie, gloves and wide-legged pants, their face covered by a gas mask with some magenta details which used the shimmer of altered lumogarnets to glow on that colour. Shift stared into the figure for a moment until he decided to speak.
> "Long time no see, Hyla."
The figure took off the hood of her hoodie and her mask, revealing the face of a girl with pale skin and brown eyes, her hair long and pink, her name was Hyla Cerynee, an eight liner from a well known family. Hyla stared into Shift's eyes for a moment, there was disgust and resignation on her eyes, leaning against a wall she took a moment to breathe and then speak up.
> "Finally found you, I've been waiting for you to pass over here since two hours ago." Hyla said taking a step closer to Shift.
> "You know where I live." Shift replied.
For a moment Hyla let go a huff of annoyance before speak once more.
> "You think If I step into that zone I would make it out alive? No. Look Shift, all I want is a favour my dad is asking you, don't go to work tomorrow."
Hyla's father, Mr. Velcross Cerynee worked for a certain corporation called the CSID, from the long name, Cannizonts Special Investigation Department, a corporation at charge of taking care of certain cases which can put on danger the security of the entire country like hacking, terrorism, conspiration and revels would be, Cannizonts is target of many enemy countries and groups, so the fact that the CSID was involved in this situation made Shift ponder for a while.

> "I need this job Hyla, there aren't many job vacancies for a two liner." Shift said.
Even with Hyla's warning he decided to keep his path, eventually when he was about to bypass Hyla he got stopped by her arm.
< "I'm serious Shift, don't go to work tomorrow." Hyla said, having a serious glance found on her eyes.
Both of them stared eachother, this behaviour was strange coming from Hyla, Shift knew that. With a sigh and a small nod he agreed, both of them separated paths and Shift went back straight to his path.
The day were pretty normal as always, Shift worked for the most popular potato chips company on the whole country, not as manager or a marketing leader, but instead he worked at one of the many factories, even if this products could be made easily with machines, but low liners needed jobs and high liners reduce costs. With many other workmates he made his job, take some chips with a scoop, placing them on the bag and pass them, the cycle always went that way, still thought, the other workers on the factory were all united like a family.
> "Hey Shift!" One of the workers said.
It was a big guy with a greenish gas mask, messy dark hair and a brown skin, having an apron and gloves he was Clover Zilix, besides him there was Amy Leranox, a elderly woman with pale skin and silverish hair, and Boris Nebuloz, a skinny guy not passing from 17 with purple eyes and brown hair.
> "Check the package and don't mess anything." Clover said, placing a cardboard box on a shelf nearby Shift.
Shift took the package, precisely and carefully he opened the box expecting to find more chips or bags for keep working, instead of that all he found was an already packed chips with a blue beanie and black scarf.
> "Guys, you didn't had to." Shift said as he took the scarf for examine it.
> "Of course we needed to, it's been already 5 years working here, you needed a reward if you won't get an extra payment." Amy said with a raspy voice.
> "The chips are from my part, we need to celebrate Shift! who knows? maybe you can finally ascend." Boris said next.
Even if their lifestyle and economical situation weren't the best they all were united, having a home and monthly food provisions they had some spare change for Shift.
> "Thank you guys, If I reach the three liner standars on the next line check I won't forget you, most probably I'll still work here until I get something better than this hole anyways." Shift said making everyone laugh.
Despite the rough life lower liners always held tightly every single small hint of happiness, they may not have luxurious clothes or even a decent home, but They're all a family. Jokes, chatting and hard work filled the factory that day, as the shift came to an end Shift found himself walking back home all alone, with his new beanie and scarf on, the beauty of Cannizonts were always on the nights, the nice view of the neon lights on every single building extending and extending on all directions.
Zone 2 was the home of every single two liner, the streets dirty and with potholes, people afraid of their own kinds when the night came. Shift passed the streets of zone 2, walking through many places which people called home, mobile homes without wheels, boxes made of several mix of materials like aluminum sheets, concrete and wood, and of course, and steel containers, all of those adapted to be habited, as for Shift, he climbed a dangerous staircase to reach the top of an advertisement billboard, the place he lived on with a wooden celing and living between the two large signs, his stuff were all around the tight space, despite all and the cold air he always had, it was his home.
Laying down on his bed, the two liner thought and daydreamed about a better future, a timeline where he could follow that dream he had as a child, without further hesitation he dri
