6. Secrets

"-I hope she doesn't think I'm going to apologize to that bunny, because he's literally not even her son!"

Braixen was walking through the trees, trying to calm herself down as she went about grumbling curses and other things about that strange Rowlet, her two little friends, her sister and about everyone else who literally had any sanity, which she clearly did not. Incineroar had taken his two sons to train with him, taking advantage of the fact that she was still asleep and that he had no desire to argue with her about what happened last night.

"-I may have done it, but it was self-defense, they had made fun of me! 'I don't like cold water, my children know that! And what do I get? With the freezing water from the beach all over my beautiful fur and almost on my poor tail! If someone had attacked me, how would I have been able to defend myself without my powers? Because I certainly don't know how to fight without my valuable fire attacks... Why did I do it? Why did I do it? Nobody likes to be made fun of, on top of the fact that you make a fool of yourself!" he kicked a rock hard and it hit the trunk of another tree. "Of course, what do those brats think, that's because their parents spoiled them, yes, it's not my fault that I'm perfect and they're not!

She was so deep in her own thoughts that she finally came across a river. She walked over to it and looked at herself in the reflection, with all the anger plastered on her face, which she changed to a seductive smile, accompanied by a boastful giggle.

"-By Arceus, what a fool I am! Look at me getting angry over a silly thing like that... after all, I am Braixen, the girlfriend of the future deputy councilor of the Forest community, and therefore, I am sure I will get a good position as my role deserves..... I heard that Dragonite is thinking of forming a theater company, and who better but ME to embody my elegant acting skills on stage!" All the while she kept stroking the hair coming out of her two large ears, arranging them and shaping them into a satisfied form. "Braixen, the actress who began her wanderings in a humble section of Onamuya Forest, spreading admiration and taking the best unimaginable accolades that reaches even the stages of the best TV and movie shoots, I can see it, yes, the first pokémon to reach the top of the stars, warmly embracing fame and posing in the best photos with presenters and movie directors, and then some famous..."

  "-Cinderace!"

That ruined her moment of fictional glory. She was stunned for a few moments, never quite coming out of her own world, until she heard the shout again:

  "'-Cinderace, please stop!

"-Great, they've ruined my moment again!" the pokémon said to herself, but seeing the screams coming closer, she knew she would have no choice but to hide. "In that tree, quick!" and she hid behind a log.

Suddenly, loud gasps sounded on the scene followed by footsteps, followed by a muffled sound on the ground. Braixen peeked his head out slightly and indeed, it was what he guessed, there was his.... sister.

"-What is it now...?" he muttered to himself.

Then, the Lucario appeared and had to stop next to her friend to take a breath, putting its two front paws on its two legs.

"--Well, it looks like the time has come!"

Braixen startled greatly, falling backwards. Then he saw Ger, who had been behind him.

"--How many times have I told you not to appear like that!" she whispered, irritated with fright. However, he squealed at her, indicating to peek out slightly to see what was going on. "Do you think...?

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

"-What if they're going to kiss? I'll bet a kiss they are!" however, Braixen looked at her coldly, dissuading the Gengar from the idea, turning his attention back to what was going on up ahead.

"-Cinderace... please, I just... I didn't mean to, I swear, I just wanted to..." suddenly, he stopped excusing himself. He saw that his friend had sat down in front of the water, staring at her reflection. He did the same, in an attempt to talk to her. "Forgive me, please..."

"-But..." mused Ger. "What must have happened between those two?" he managed to ask quietly before Braixen covered his mouth.

Meanwhile, Cinderace was paying no attention. She just stared at her own reflection, depressed and with her hands supporting her head. Meanwhile, Lucario only did the same next to her, thinking he had lost her and would never speak to her again... but no, it wasn't to be.

She took Luc's hand, careful not to hurt him, which made them both blush.

"-Hey..." whispered the pokémon. " Do you... do you like me?

Luc just remained silent, not knowing what to do. If she said yes, would she get pissed off and not be his friend anymore?

  "-I-" the Lucario blushed. "I..."

Suddenly, she turned to him and sat cross-legged. He didn't want to look her in the face out of embarrassment, squeezing.

“-Forgive me, Cindy.... I'm a disaster of a friend.... Forgive me, please, I've been an idiot all along, I... I... I... I don't deserve you!” she exclaimed bursting into tears and starting to sob a little.

She just pulled him to her, giving him a tender hug to which he reciprocated a little later.

“How corny...” murmured Ger. “All romances are the same.”

“Shut up, you won't let me listen!” chided Braixen.

Although the two were not separated for a good while, they did fondle each other, something that definitely repulsed the fox-like pokémon.

“-Please don't cry...” tried to beg Cinderace. Finally, he managed to master himself, while still letting tears escape, she wiped them away with her fingers, caressing his cheeks and face tenderly. Soon, the Lucario did the same, without saying a single word, just enjoying each other's company. Braixen had never in her life been like this with her boyfriend, although she had no doubt that he was looking forward to such a moment. were two friends going to be friends? Ridiculous to her.

“- Cindy, I'm so sorry... I just wanted to... I was going to tell you when...”

“-I still remember the first time I saw you. I was still a Scorbunny who had just arrived on the island, and you... you were just a playful and brave wild Riolu. You showed me every corner of this beautiful forest.... we lived so many adventures together, so many good times...”

“-That could be over forever” Luc thought, but evidently he wasn't going to say that. Instead he simply remained silent, watching her.

“-And I grew fond of you. You told me that you wanted to be by my side forever, that you would never be separated from me and that we would always be together.... And honestly that's what I want now...”

  He nodded.

“-It's been so long since that.... And now look at me, I'm just a grumpy Lucario...”

“-But that doesn't matter, not to me.” He said, sitting on top of her legs. “And honestly, I'd hate to pass up this opportunity. What about you?

  “-No.” he replied, “Never.”

They both smiled slightly. From one moment to the next they began to slowly approach each other, until they were face to face, blushing like hell, but happy to be with each other.

“-Arceus, it looks to me like they're going to do it.” said Ger, uncomfortably.

“-This can't be happening.” mused Braixen, incredulous at what had so long been ideas.

But it happened: after a few moments of rubbing nose to nose, they both grabbed each other's cheeks and kissed, letting loose what they had so long hidden: their true feelings. Braixen went pale as a ghost, while Ger.... well, he was hooked and couldn't stop staring, bent over so much that he almost fell, although if it wasn't for his friend, they would have spoiled the whole moment, discovering them on the spot.

It seemed like an eternity. It was several minutes before they finally separated without stopping blushing.

“-See how it wasn't that hard, silly?” said Cindy to Luc, squeezing his muzzle.

“-I... I love you, Cinderace.” he said, smiling, and then they kissed again for a few seconds.

“-And I love you, Lucky.” she answered, after separating their lips again.

And so they both remained looking at each other for a long time, unable to separate from the tight embrace they were giving each other.

“Let's go.” ordered Braixen in a deep voice, suddenly. “I've already seen everything I had to see.”

“But...” tried to say Ger, but she grabbed his hand and dragged him away almost at a crawl.

In the meantime, the two lovebirds embraced again, alone and in intimacy. After a long while, they broke apart and looked at each other again.

“-So... do you want... you and me... and the kids... to start a family?”

“-You know the answer to that question.” and they both laughed again. “I'm sure all three of you will be thrilled...”

“I was thinking about... well... you know, Row... it's still true that we don't know him at all, but...”

“Adopt him?” she said. “Of course I want to! He's a very different Rowlet and he may only be here for a day, but I want him to stay with us, so he can have parents and siblings who care about him...and the egg..... The egg!”

“The egg!” Luc exclaimed, suddenly getting up, “Let's see how the egg is, maybe it's already completely broken!”

They both nodded excitedly and ran out of the place, though never forgetting that they would now be a couple, a nice family.
