Celosia soon reached the door leading into the attic on the fourth floor, this was one of the three doors that this floor has besides a small closet and a bathroom. Through the door was a small wooden sqaure step, with simir wooden steps beside It leading further up into the fifth floor attic, this was a good spot to pce shoes when coming into this room as well as the racks in front of Celosia that can be used to hang up keys or coats.
There was one key hanging by the rack, an old dusty brown key that Celosia was happy to see that it was the attic key after trying it on the door. Celosia then tucked the key in her pocket, because she knows Isobel will keep the key for herself should she find it as she hates locked rooms, even if it was something like a bathroom.
Celosia soon walked up the stairs to the attic itself, it was rge, and dusty, but there was a closet at the side of the room, and a drawer and a bed next to it, as well as two rge windows on each side of the room.
Both of them also have sills to sit on, which Celosia proceeded to do by sitting on the sill to the back window, she pced her box of things next to her.
As she did, the pink sleeve of her cardigan rolled down, revealing a long scar that was almost cleared up, there was another scar just like it, but it was more visible, followed by another one that was even more visible and red, Celosia promptly grabbed her sleeve and pulled it back up.
Despite being it being bright a little earlier, the sky was starting to darken with clouds again. Celosia knew that it was going to rain soon as she looked at the rge dark green trees of Fmel's rge forest just outside the back of the house. Going into this forest turns the world darker the further you go in, it would be as if it had suddenly turned night.
Celosia remembered the quiet times she had going into the forest with Peter and Evelyn and sometimes with Louisa as well, they would go out whenever Celosia's parents, siblings or cousins had made her upset or in the case of her parents were fighting over something petty.
It reminded Celosia of the forest back in Agatho, where it was a good pce to do anything in them away from society, having sex, dealing drugs.
Hiding bodies.
But this forest was bigger. Celosia wasn't surprised about the three deaths that had happened near these forests done by a wild bear which she heard about before her and her family arrived here, these deaths confused Celosia because of the supposed wild bear that's been doing this.
Fmel doesn't have any wild bears, more or less a zoo that has one that could escape, how would one get here?
The st victim was a part time farmhand that was apprentley lured into it by the bear making noises, another strange thing as she's not sure if bears even do that.
Celosia also wondered if the bastard that took those boys did so in the forest as well.
She turned towards her box, so she can try and think about something else. She dug through her things, and pulled out a small brown box.
The box contained her blunts as she opened and checked them to see if any were damage during the travel, none of them were ruined thankfully. Celosia then opened the window next to her, to let out the oncoming smoke she was about to create with the blunts.
Her eyes began turning pink as she used a small lighter inside the box to light a blunt up, she felt more, calm, at peace, the nagging voices of her family no longer harrasing her, when she smokes a blunt, the voices just get blocked from her like a brick wall and she can no longer feel the hurtful words of them calling her a pig, rat or how embarrased they feel around her.
Celosia paused a little as she looked out the window.
She, didn't l?i?k?e? herself either if she was honest.
It would be b???e???t???t???e???r??? if she was g?????????o????n????????????????e???????????.
She shook her head, those thoughts quickly subsided, in a way, this was the closest she had to medication, she wanted to be medicated, but her parents thought it would mean that Celosia was insane and that they were bad parents, which they already were so it's no use trying not to medicate their daughter.
She dug into the rger box some more, most of which just contained her other things and her clothes, including the grey, pin clothes her mother bought her for when the school break ends.
Celosia wasn't interested in them, her mother thought her other clothes, such as the one that she's wearing now "showed off her body more to men" and that she would look better if she hid herself more. They didn't fit her either, she actually tried them on for her mother's sake but they almost ripped open due to how small they were, Isobel didn't see this as a problem and just thought Celosia was putting on weight.
And then, at the bottom of the box, was a picture of Reiki.
Reiki Daigo was her friend back in Agatho, her only friend, the photo they took, was one of the rare times Celosia smiled, It was of the two standing outside of Reiki's house. Her family knew about Reiki, they thought he was annoying despite him trying to be polite whenever he came by or just to say hello, but they were unaware of his living situation. Celosia swore to Reiki that she wouldn't tell anyone when she found out that he was living alone, despite being only fifteen.
Celosia was also the only one aware of his illness.
It was the reason he left.
She still remembered coming over that day to find his house empty, and the note that he had left behind.
Celosia never really had that many friends in Agatho besides Reiki because of her blunt personailty and her fascination with things that were creepy or things that people at that school didn't like, like her love for gory horror movies, movies involving kaiju defending or destroying the Earth or tokusatsu shows like Shinkisei Rider, which everyone in Agatho thought was cheesy and stupid but Celosia thought was a cool show with hot guys as main characters.
She, also wasn't the type to start conversations, the person would have to come to her to talk to her instead, and even then she would be less interested in the conversation if they talked about something she didn't like.
She had opportunity's to befriend more people in Gyges, as despite most of the students being stand offish or creeps, there was some general good people that attended that school.
Like Megan Leonard, she was popur in Gyges, but, Celosia felt as though she was simir to her, and yet, she never reached out to her when she had the opportunity too, despite her locker being near hers back in Gyges, because she felt as though she would somehow alienate Megan as well like everyone else at that school.
She should have reached out, then maybe Megan would still be alive to this day.
But then again, so would that prick Leopold, the world didn't need someone like him, Celosia made sure of It.
As Celosia put out her blunt, she heard the sound of ughter coming from the forest. It sounded like teenage girls, when Celosia looked around the trees, she saw them.
They were, standing on top of a tree, on It's branches. Celosia was stunned that they managed to climb that high, and that they were standing on the branches without them breaking, some of them wore shirts and pants while others wore dresses, and they were of different skin colours. One of the girls, who had brown skin was holding a broomstick, while the other girls watched her, with smiles on their faces, they cheered the girl on, they called her Emily.
"Go Emily!" One of the girls cheered, Emily looked down from the top of the tree. The girls didn't notice Celosia watching them from her attic window, who was confused with what was going on.
"It's scary, but remember we can catch you if you fall, but you won't reach the ground." Another girl said.
Wait, was Emily---
Celosia almost dropped her crunched up blunt out the window when she saw Emily jump from the tree and towards the ground. "H-Holy-" Celosia fell from the sill and onto the floor. She ran towards the stairs and out of the attic.
She passed her confused family members, such as her Dad talking to a "Mister Mould" on the phone in Peter and Evelyn's old bedroom as she ran out into the Garden, to see if she can look over from beyond the fence and check on Emily and the rest of the girls.
But when she jumped up on the fence and looked over it towards the entrance of the woods, Emily wasn't there, there was no blood spttered remains of her, but she was gone, and when Celosia looked up from the top of the tree, so were the rest of the girls that were cheering for her.
"Celosia what are you doing!?" Isobel shouted near the backdoor as she and the rest of the family marched out to approach the edge of the garden where Celosia was.
“Get down from there now before you break the fence! You stupid girl.” Isobel continued to shout in anger, the fence, which was strong, showed no sign of breaking from Celosia’s weight, regardless, Celosia jumped back down into the backyard.
“I just saw something in the woods! That’s why I climbed up the fence just now.” Celosia expined what she did as her family approached her.
“What did you see?” Louisa asked, curious, Celosia knew that they wouldn’t believe her if she told them she saw a girl jump from a tree, so she had to dilute her story and make it more, realistic in order to sound believable.
“I saw some girls by a tree just behind the fence, they were doing something dangerous.” Celosia turned back over towards the fence.
“Was that a reason you had to drag us outside just now?” Isobel snarled at Celosia as she looked back at her family.
“You were the ones that followed me outside, so if I ruined your time talking shit about me behind my back again then I guess I’m sorry for that.” Celosia retaliated.
“Celosia, always making stupid stories, what a burden.” Addison snarled like her mother.
“Funny, considering the fights you get in with Mom and Dad, and I thought you were the worst.” Celosia shot back with a grin. Her retaliation seemed to have hit Addison hard, but she showed no signs of tears welling in her eyes. Addison was comforted by her two other sisters as the three walked back into the house, along with Gio.
Damon and Damian did the same too, after staring at Celosia in a creepy manner.
“I mean, with the creepy things that I've heard happen on this Isnd, I’m not surprised if you saw something concerning.” Louisa was more supportive of what Celosia saw, which prompted a gre from Isobel.
“Really, you believe me Louisa?” Celosia asked, to which Louisa nodded, Celosia looked relieved by that nod.
“Of course Celosia, I'll always believe you, but you did go too far with that comment with Addison just now, even if she was equally too far by calling you a burden.” Louisa gave her assurance to Celosia. With a scoff, Isobel turned away from her daughter and Louisa and marched back into the house without another word.
“Believe me when I say this.” Louisa stated.
“There’s some weird things in that forest that I’ve already seen.” She shuddered.
“I’m gd I’m not the only one that’s seen some weird shit on this Isnd.” Celosia looked up towards the darkened clouds, the csp of thunder was heard in the distance, signalling oncoming rain.
The woman that Celosia saw arrived back at the Fmel Apartment Complex in the market district. It was good timing for her as well as it was just about to rain. She seemed excited and looked determined to finish a task as she parked her bike and hastily ran into the Complex before the rain began to hit her.
She needed to make a phone call to Besant.
Celosia has finally arrived just as she intended.
