Chapter 8: I'll be waiting

  I awoke to someone calling my name.

  Stilled seated, I slowly turned my body and faced the direction of the voice.

  It was the cat. Somehow, it was out of its cage.

  "Colt" Said the cat.

  It's voice was deep despite the cat having a small body.

  'Strange, what is this thing.' I thought

  'Could it be the Phoenix! Did he posses the body of an animal instead of trying to manifest a body for himself to enter the real world' I thought relieved

  Despite the horrors of this world, I smiled, I smiled because I wasn't alone, I have help.

  Or so I thought.

  "Wipe that smile of your face, Colt. Don't think I haven't forgotten what you've done" Said the cat, it's eyes glared at me.

  "Have you already forgotten who I am. Have you forgotten what is waiting for you"

  I was confused. 'I've never seen this cat before it must be thinking of someone else. But it knows my name.'

  " I'm going to make sure you suffer a fate worse than death" Said the cat demonicly

  It was at that moment everything clicked for me. My already pale face grew more pale, looking more like a dead person then something living.

  My heart spiked, my breathing grew ragged. 'I can't fight it, not now. I'm not ready' I slowly started to panic.

  'It's here, it's here to take me! Damm it, I'm not just gonna stand by and let it torture me'

  I stood up, getting mentally ready to use my self immolation skill and burn the cat.

  The cat only stared at me, before saying "I don't plan to do anything to you, for now at least."

  "Torturing you while you can't fight back is no fun. I want to see the hope fade from your eyes as you fight back, realizing that there's no escape."

  It licked its paw before saying. " I want to tear you apart limb from limb myself, I don't want to use a 'follower' as a medium. I want to experience your look of despair with my own eyes"

  "I'm just here to tell you one thing" the cat looked straight at me before is face Distorted, it's mouth wide open. It mouth didn't move as it spoke but the sound of hissing and rumbling could be heard as it spoke.

  "The moment you step foot back outside, I'll RIP YOU TO SHREDS"

  It face contorted into a deranged smile before turning back to a normal cat.

  "Meow" Said the cat, then walked away.

  I stood there in frozen after the cat already left.

  'no no NO! I was going to find the fallen angel quickly so that the Phoenix could protect me from this God. I'm screwed. I won't be able to find the fallen angel without leaving this underground city. But it's already waiting for me in the surface. No no, everything falling apart.'

  I was losing my shit.

  'I can't even come up with a plan to escape, how am I going make a new plan to fight off an Eldritch God. Shit! The Phoenix absorbing the fallen angel and helping me was my only hope. Damn it! How! How am I going to protect myself now'

  Wrapping my arms over my head I slowly fell into despair.

  'I'm trying my best but it's not enough. I've learned to be more careful, but I was stilled captured, I tried to stay composed and not be reckless and now I'm stuck in a cage. No. Why! Damn it im trying, I'm TRYING!!'

  'I CAN'T. Even if I find a way to escape this cage. The only way I could really be safe is if I leave this city. But if I leave, I'll be ripped to shreds. It doesn't matter what I do, I'm already doomed. Everything I do just ends up meaning nothing. All my fucking work on trying to escape means nothing. Heck, the spell might still be on me from the dwarf. If I run I might just melt on the spot'

  "Hahaha. It doesn't matter it doesn't matter!" I said hysterically.

  I'm lost. I didn't fall asleep for the rest of the night.

  The assistant didn't say anything the entire night.
