I wake up groggy, sore, hungry and thirsty. My makeshift bed hadn't done me any favors. It took me a moment to recall my surroundings and the events of yesterday. One stood out to me in particular.

  The weird sixth sense. Or 24th, or 33rd if you know your neuroscience. I focus on it and once again my head blob appears to me in vivid detail. It's a fully 3-dimensional sense, like proprioception, but much more detailed.

  I activate bullet time again, just to see if I can. And I can, though it seems like the strength of the effect varies by position. Which is because there's more or less... energy in certain places. I haven't yet come up with terminology for what I'm dealing with. Too busy dealing with survival stuff (poorly).

  With bullet time active, I study my brain blob. There's a couple of different structures floating around inside, though the largest and most complicated one by far seems to be the one responsible for my bullet time. I can tell because it starts morphing and doing all kinds of weird things when I kick off the ability.

  Another structure of note is the one at the center point of the structure. It connects to all the other structures, and even the tendrils. It's got a spherical hole in it's center, with hexagonal plates, valves and other structures surrounding it. I notice a buildup of energy within small chambers, followed by a pulse that travels outwards to all the other structures within the blob.

  I try pulling from that structure into my bullet time structure. It responds, immediate. I barely am able to notice valves open and close, redirecting pulses of energy to my bullet time structure. The effect is noticeable when I turn to my other senses, a further speed up in cognition. If I had to guess, I'd say I'm running at 10x the mental speed as before?

  Oh, I'm not reliant upon the environment to fuel my bullet time. Neat.

  Except if conservation of energy laws applies, then that energy has to coming from somewhere. Not keen on finding out where it comes from at the wrong time.

  The other structures have no obvious function to them, their structures too alien. I'll have to figure out what they do another time.

  If I'm guessing right, the structures are how I make use of the energy source within me? Except, can I construct new ones myself? And if I could, where would I even begin? These things look monstrously complex. They never stay the same shape long enough for me to study them, always shifting. There is a pattern in how they shift, I can at least tell that much.

  I focus on a empty spot with the blob and focus intensely on my arcane sense. That's what I've decided to call it. I have.... I have the feeling I could just-

  One of the unknown structures flickers to life, pulling my focus. I watch, waiting for some action. Nothing. After a few seconds, it goes dormant again.. Frustrated, I turn my focus back to the blank spot and try again.

  Again the structure whirrs to life. This time I do not let it distract me, and I try manipulating the energy within the blank spot. The structure rapidly forms tendrils to the spot, weaving around the other structures. Then from the ends of that tendrils, little microstructures form.

  I will the energy to condense. There's a pull, and energy is dragged to that spot and a crystal seed forms. I stop the process, and watch as the tendrils rapidly deconstruct themselves. The crystal destabilizes and turns back to fluid energy, forming a small shockwave as it displaces the fluid in that region.

  The shockwave travels throughout the blob. I am concerned as it approaches my structures, but am relieved when it harmlessly passed through them. The surface of the blob ripples slightly.

  Hmm. So I think making my own structures might be possible. I need to figure out how they work, first.

  A long time passed. Hours upon hours. Subjectively speaking, of course. Outside, it's been like what... 10 minutes? Yeah, the bullet time is OP.

  During that time I've been experimenting with the crystal generation. Getting the crystals to stabilize required the use of some other tools from my blob manipulator. It took some study and cross reference with the other structures to realize what they did. One of them for instance created vibrations, and another changed the "color" of the energy.

  Depending on the starting conditions, the crystal that formed would be wildly different. Most were unstable and would immediately dissolve back into energy. But I was able to copy some of the micro structures I found within the mega structures. Mainly, the ones I was able to copy were ones that manipulated the energy.

  But the important discovery! I had recreated the classic logic four logic gates. AND, NOT, OR, and XOR. With these, I could build a whole ass computer in here! I just had to figure out a way to make it interface with reality. Which I know is possible, thanks to bullet time structure.

  I have a bit of headache though. So I'm going to shelve that as a future project. Now, I need to go and handle my thirst and hunger. My body can stop screaming at me about it.
