Chapter 15

  Chapter 15

Over the next month, Drakkel personally took care of Rillian Adore, who spent most of the time in a slumber. Because of this, Rillian Adore didn’t seem to be fully aware of who was helping him. But one day, he finally noticed.

Sitting up in his bed as Drakkel walked in with a hot cloth for his forehead, Rillian Adore asked, “Drakkel, Why are you doing this?”

Drakkel walked over to him, helped him lay back down, and placed the cloth on his head. “Because, I owe it to you.”

Rillian Adore moved Drakkel’s hand and sat back up. “You don’t owe me anything. My presence impacted your plan at the Sword Summit. If I wasn’t there…”

Drakkel placed a hand on Rillian Adore’s shoulder. “I know the full story. It had nothing to do with you. You were only a victim of unfortunate circumstances. In fact, it should be me that’s apologizing. I got angry at you without knowing everything. You were only trying to help.”

Rillian Adore looked up at Drakkel with guilt.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

After a moment, Drakkel again pushed him back down. “Forget it. Why don’t you rest some more? We can always talk when you’ve fully healed.”

This time, Rillian Adore laid down without any resistance.

Once Drakkel set the hot cloth on his forehead, he said, “I’m feeling a bit hungry…”

His eyes drifted to Drakkel as he said it, gazing at him expectantly.

Drakkel had to admit that Rillian Adore hadn’t eaten since yesterday and yet, the thought of getting him food disturbed him. Despite that, debts still had to be paid.

“Sure,” he said. “I’ll go get you some.”

Rillian Adore gratefully smiled at him as he got up to retrieve the food.

When Drakkel returned, Rillian Adore was sitting up on the bed.

Although he held his usual stern look, his hands were slightly shaking and his toes wriggled a bit as he waited for Drakkel. The contrast was really too much to bear and Drakkel almost laughed at the sight.

When Rillian Adore saw Drakkel approach, his expression softened.

Drakkel took the seat next to his bed, blew on the hot porridge he brought in and attempted to hand the bowl to Rillian Adore.

However, Rillian Adore glanced at the bowl, hands unmoving. Then he looked up at Drakkel and said, “I can’t…”

Drakkel’s mouth twitched. Wasn’t this familiar?

He gave a friendly smile. “Of course. I forgot. I’ll feed you.”

Rillian Adore only gave a curt nod, still smiling faintly. But just as before, Drakkel couldn’t be angry at his actions. Not after everything he had done for him.

He took out a spoonful, blew on it, and gently moved it to Rillian Adore’s mouth.
