Vol 2 Chapter 30: Strength vs Speed

  ...

In the other side of the forest, The Pilr of Wind as well as the Pilr of Water are cooperating to take take down the Demicat

As strong as they are, they never let gone into their heads that they're far stronger than the enemy

To be more specific, The Wind Pilr is more cautious in her moves as they try to widen their awareness around them

They're tense, but their opponent shows no signs of it

  "..."

  "..."

...They quietly stared at the Demicat, who had a bnk expression on her face the whole time

"Demicats have a superior physique that's capable of fighting a hundred A Rank adventurers, but I heard that their strength is more comparable to those Heroes"

"I know. She might be ridiculously strong..."

Aeris goes into her stance, seemingly of those like assassins

"...But I doubt she can keep up"

  "...Aeris"

  "What?"

"You do know that were not just up against some Demicat, right?"

Casa was hinting at 'that' particur thing

"I know, but I'm also confident that I can take her on"

  "..."

Casa hesitates for a few seconds, then sighs at Aeris' statement

"I see...I'll do what I can at least"

  "I'm counting on ya!"

Casa took a few steps back as she raised her staff upwards

  "...?"

  "Stream of Empowerment: Stat Amplify!"

It was then that a cylindrical shaped water enveloped Aeris, slowly compressing itself to her until it slowly disappears

The Demicat however, didn't gave any reaction

  "Hm? Casa, you're-"

"We can't underestimate her. If we want to raise our chances of winning, then I had to amplify your strength to the max"

"But that means your mana is-"

"I still have some, I'm not that dumb"

Aeris smiles at Casa right after

"Then I guess I will also go all out now!"

She says, as they directed their attention back at the Demicat

  "..."

  "Let's dance, shall we, Demicat?"

Instantaneously, Aeris went behind the Demicat, leaving no room for the Demicat to react

  "HAAAA!"

  *Swish!*

With her dagger in her hand, she went ahead to try and cut off the Demicat's head

  But suddenly-

  *Thunk!*

  "?!"

it got stopped by the Demicat's hand

Aeris went for another strike with her other dagger

  *Swish!*

unfortunately it was followed by another-

  *Thunk!*

-block by the Demicat's other hand

  "Tsk!"

Aeris drew back, back flips as she maintained distance from her

"...A Demicat was able to stop my attack without her hands bleeding...?"

Her daggers were covered with poison, but due to the Demicat's hard skin, it wasn't able to nd a poison to the target

  "Wait...wait wait wait wait wait!"

Other than that, there was more something that was shocking to her

"...How did she know where I would be striking?!"

As her focus started to waver, her will still hasn't faded. She tested the Demicat by going around in circles while attacking her in many directions

*Whoosh* *thwap* *Whoosh* *thwap* *Whoosh* *thwap* *Whoosh* *thwap* *Whoosh* *thwap* *Whoosh* *thwap*

But as to be expected, none nded a clean hit to the Demicat

  "...So it isnt a fluke..."

It was then that Aeris finally confirmed, that the Demicat can really catch up to her speed. It wasn't only because the Demicat was too fast to react, but it also can keep up with her

"I thought that if I can be fast enough, I might be able to nd a hit or two...but to think that they're this powerful...this is bad..."

Aeris knew it was a battle she can't lose, yet it was also a battle she can't win, hence why she looked over to Casa, signalling to her about something, to which Casa immediately understood

  "Hey you"

  "...?"

Aeris looked over to the Demicat, who started talking

"You're quite fast for a human"

  "..."

"But I knew it, you weren't as fast as the other heroes I've seen in that pce"

  "?!"

As if the Demicat hit the trigger, the Wind Pilr lost her cool

"Excuse me? Are you trying to say that I'm too slow compared to others?"

"Hm? Didn't it came out across that way? I see...Leader was right about me in that one thing I guess"

"Ha! You haven't seen my fastest yet! I've been going easy on you just now!"

Right after Aeris said that, she knew that it was something that she can't take back anymore, now she has to prove it

"Why don't you show it to me then?"

The Demicat said with an empty smile on her face

"F-Fine! Now you're asking for it!"

Its not like she was boasting about it either, she knew she can go further beyond than that

"I'll make it easy for you, I will stay still here. If I won't be able to react to your attack, you win, I'll surrender...but if you lose..."

The demicat's smiling face slowly shifted into an empty, dead serious expression

"...I'll be ripping your mouth apart from what you just said to my Leader earlier"

  "!"

Aeris felt the shivers down her spine, but that didn't stop her to prepare for her next attack

She deeply inhales and exhales, clearing her thoughts as she opened her eye at the target

  "Silencing Wind..."

She goes back to her assassin like form, as the wind started to accumute around her

  "...Point Bnk!"

Faster than she ever was before, Aeris striked her dagger at the Demicat's right side

  "!"

  *Shing!*

  ...

  *Thud!*

But the Demicat once again, was able to block her attack perfectly

  "?! M-My fastest move..."

Shocked as she was, The Demicat slowly turned her face toward Aeris

  "See what I mean?"

  "H-How..."

Aeris, stucked in motion, got called out by Casa

  "Aeris! Stay back!"

  "!"

As if she finally snapped back to reality, she took a step back to where Casa was

and right after, a big ball of water surrounds the Demicat

  "...?"

  *Blorp!*

The massive ball of water that Casa released successfully encages the Demicat

  "..."

  "...Took you long enough"

"You say that, but you're probably gd that I was able to make it in time, huh?"

  "Urk!"

The Demicat was unable to get free from Casa's spell, but remained calm even in the worst situation

"Looks like she doesn't even care about what's happening to her right now"

"It doesn't look good on us, Aeris. We only have 30 seconds"

  "That's enough for me! HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

An aura of green then envelops Aeris, enhancing her overall strength

  "HAAAAAA!"

Casa follows after Aeris, enhancing her overall capabilities as well

"So that's what the Pilrs can do..."

"First time seeing it huh? This is the power bestowed to us since we became the Pilrs of the Sol Empire!"

  "Sol...Empire?"

"To be as fast as the wind, or rather, faster than the wind, faster than the sound, faster than the speed of light"

  "..."

"To be the endless stream of support, the guidance and empowerment of the elements"

In front of the Demicat, the Pilr of Wind and the Pilr of Water stood, which even the Demicat can assess that their strengths individually cannot be taken lightly

It was then that the massive ball of water slowly disappeared, releasing the Demicat in the process

"You caged me just to buy time for yourselves?"

"We can't take any more chances. We have to take you down sooner or ter without underestimating you"

The Demicat assesses the Water Pilr, then nods her head in agreement

"I'm guessing its two against one now this time?"

  "Sadly, its not"

  "Hm?"

"As the water pilr, I'm merely a support for the other elements I'm the element that is capable of strengthening them...as well as-"

She lightly taps the ground with her staff, as her blue aura slowly transfers to Aeris' Green Aura

"-capable of transferring my own strength to other pilrs"

  "Are you crazy Casa?!"

Casa fells down to her knees, while giving a weak smile at Aeris

"What? Isn't that my role as the Water Pilr? you deserve the strength more than I do"

  "Casa..."

"This is the only thing I can do at this point. Now go prove to that Demicat that you're the fastest she's ever seen!"

  "! Right!"

She says, as she turned her full attention to the Demicat once again

"I see...I guess I should give some seriousness into this"

The Demicat stretches her arms and legs, giving the sense that she's warmed up and ready to fight

With the Water Pilr's power transferred onto the Wind Pilr, it was a now battle against the two...

...a battle between Strength vs Speed...
