In one of the Sol Empire's borders, two knights can be seen stationed, patrolling each of their own assigned perimeter
While the other took care of the entrance, the other's duty was to look out for any suspicious individuals
'Suspicious' in their vocabury would be the ones without Sol Empire's pass, Exploration Permits from Hikari, or Her Highness, an exiled individual, or dangerous individuals
As the other looked from above, another individual at question can be seen walking towards their pce
"..."
With a high mighty aura, noble looking outfit, fshing jewelry around its neck, it was no doubt that the person who could only be walking like a very important person would be-
"Oi! Its him again"
"What?"
"That guy! For the seventh time!"
The knight shouted, making the other knight below sigh loudly
"Just how many times would it take for this douchebag to get it through his thick skull?"
"Maybe its because he doesn't even have a brain to begin with"
"Arguably the most logical sense..."
The man in question then approached the Knight
"Good day sir knight! Did you-"
"No"
"Have you-"
"No"
"...Would you at least-"
"No"
"OH C'MON! THIS IS THE SEVENTH TIME ALREADY!"
"That's what I should be saying to you!"
The man then combed his hair as he spoke
"I've told you many times already! I am not a part of any prestigious family! I already severed ties with them! So why's it that I can't even go inside?!"
"Likewise, I already told you that wasn't the case. The reason why we can't let enter someone like you, is because you don't even have any sort of pass to begin with"
"If we let someone like you in, the Pilrs would chew on us"
Said the Knight from above
"Aren't you a bit too strict about it?! I don't even have any sort of weapon on me!"
"Pilrs' orders. We're merely carrying out what we were tasked of"
"Oooh, speaking like a aspirant general knight eh?"
"Shut up"
He says as he tap the post of his partner with his spear
"I was expecting this to happen, so I already prepared provisions for myself today!"
The man says with proudness in his eyes. The knights looked at each other in confusion
"Are we supposed to be amaze with that?"
"He's probably lost it"
"Whatever! I'm going back tomorrow!"
The man left with a big stomp in each of his steps
"...Well that's new..."
"What is?"
"He usually sts a few more minutes being stubborn with us, but he folded back pretty quickly this time"
"He's probably getting impatient then"
"Well, even if he goes on and on, we really can't let him in"
"Right, especially they're on the 'list'..."
"..."
It was then time for them to switch roles right after the man left...

"We could go for this kind of system"
"I believe that costs more materials your Highness. The more we expand the area, the more materials that we'll need to lighten up the perimeters. There's also the borders that we'll need to eventually move and expand as well"
"You're right Hikari, but I thought this way, it adds fir to the pce even if its just a little bit"
"We need to prioritize safety and security over fir and decor your Highness"
"*Sigh*...that too, but why are you keep calling me 'Your Highness?'"
"I know you know the exact reason why"
"Its just Rui! He won't mind!"
"..."
They both looked at me as if they were asking me "Do you?"
If you're wondering how I end up here and not going to that cave right now, well...
The moment Lura and Mashiro left, I was ready to head on into that cave, when suddenly, Hikari and Elena were at my doorstep
Apparently, a 'permanent light source' was the most requested by the residents as of now, and Elena felt like she had to do something before they question both of them
Wood as a fuel for light source is what they have been using for as of now, but as they use more and more resources of it, it takes more actual time now to gather wood needed for just a whole day's light fuel source
Not to mention, some seniors and kids are sensitive to smokes created by the burning wood, which is also a health concern of some residents
Even though it was my priority to help that girl in that cave as soon as possible, I just couldn't bring myself to reject and dey them further especially they were the ones who took the initiative to come to me about it
Plus...I did promise Hikari that I will take a look onto it...so I really can't deny them now can I?
So I figured that I would help Hikari and Elena first and then head onto the cave, trying to save much time as much as I could...
...but as of now...
"What about this pn?"
"That can work, but your Highness, the wiring for it would be very complex"
"I see...so this is no good as well"
This is the state that we have, we've been going back and forth over many systems to choose from, but not one of them had passed yet from Hikari and Elena's judgements
The 'Street Lights' system pn was rejected due to the materials that will it need as well as its long term costs
'Wall Lights' system was also rejected due to path obstructions
'House to House Lighting' system was also rejected due to the complex wiring that it will give
There are more other systems that the Pilrs and residents had come up and suggested, but all of them had disadvantages that outweighs their advantages
"What do you think Rui?"
"Me?"
"You might have something in mind?"
Right...even though we went through all of the proposed pns here, I haven't actually thought of one myself
As I looked over the current map of Sol Empire's base, houses of the residents were separated from the stalls and storages
Their houses are simir to those camping equipment that campers use, but they are arranged in a way they're symmetric to one another
Stalls and storages on the other hand are surrounded by a wall that only selected few can enter, but there's enough space to pce some lighting inside...
...The question is, how or in what way should we do the lighting?
"The Wall Lights system really isn't a bad idea if you ask me. We should just tweak it a little"
"Tweak you say? What do you have in mind?"
"If you look at the map, the border's walls can act as a wall light as well as the wall of stalls and storages here"
"But that only lightens up the area near to those lights"
"But that's one problem taken care of, the next problem is-"
The resident area's light area and the other parts that are not covered by the wall light
"...How about the ground?"
"The ground?"
"Let's make the ground the light source as well, the wiring for it wouldn't be as complex since they can be connected to one another into one single connection"
"! It doesn't need any material as well!"
"This is quite feasible. It also covers any part of the area as well as we can easily implement it whenever we want to expand"
"Does the name 'Hybrid Lighting' System Pn sound good to you guys?"
Elena and Hikari nodded with eagerness
*Sigh*...I should've just suggested a pn earlier...
...Although that idea of mine formed from that Wall Lights System and their Map...
As Hikari create the new proposed pn in mind, Elena asked something
"Hikari, do you know where we'll get emitting ores?"
"Emitting ores?"
"The ones that we'll be using for this system to work. You proposed that pn with that material in mind, right?"
"That is the first time I heard of it"
"What?!"
Elena shocked, but Hikari didn't gave a slight reaction
"R-Rui...how can we light it up without emitting ores?"
"Emitting ores is used as a light source?"
"Generally, yes. Euna Empire uses emitting ores as their light source, where it uses mana as a fuel source. Since Sol Empire doesn't have access to those in the past, we've used coal as an alternative"
"So you knew Hikari?!"
"Its not like I 'knew', its because its Rui we're talking about"
"What about me...?"
"After our fight that day, I realized that you're not just a strong human being, you're definitely more than that"
This guy...
"Trust isn't something built within a day, so I don't expect you to show all of your aces to me, however, that doesn't stop me from making friends with someone like you"
In short, he also hasn't showed everything to me yet...
To think that we've been doing the same thing to each other this whole time...
"I get it. Now I know why you're the Leader of the Pilrs"
"I should be saying that to you, no wonder they're serving under you"
"I really don't understand what you two are trying to imply..."
Elena said, looking at us confused
"That being said, I do have an idea on how I will implement it"
Hikari smiles at my statement
"You two make a good partners in crime"
"Well, we do think alike"
"Maybe too much"
Elena chuckled after, as she walked over the newly created pn
The three of us then thought of the countermeasures and possible improvements that we can add to the system...
