The Former

Rinaye opened the door to see one of the two people that was following her the entire day. The one with deep red hair and dark blue eyes. His eyes were so dark they seemed black in the shadow. It wasn't hard to spot them as they followed her. The one in front of her was only trying to not be seen by the other one, and that one just wasn't very good at hiding either himself or his suspicions. It was rather hard for Rinaye to concentrate on her reading with someone staring daggers at her every movement and action.

The boy looked nervous as he stood in front of her. His eyes darted to each end of the hallway before he opened his mouth to speak.

"So," he coughed, "What's your name?"

"Rinaye?" She answered with a questioning look on her face. "Would you like to come in?" She asked him, beckoning inside her now very comfortable room.

"Sure," he replied entering with a vague look of accomplishment on his face. They both sat down in the newly acquired seats that Allison had made for Rinaye the night before.

"Um, how did you do, all of this?" He asked, gesturing to the now very green room. "Everyone has been wondering but no one thought to come and ask you."

"Oh, that's why I've been looked at weirdly today, well, more than normal. To answer your question, my friend did this for me." She replied.

"Your friend?" He looked at her with confusion.

"Yeah, the one I met yesterday," she told him.

"How is that possible?" He questioned.

"Well, she followed me here without me knowing so we stayed up and talked for a while. One of the topics we discussed was how hideous this room was. So, she changed it to the kind of room I have in my dreams." She replied with a straight face.

"Dreams?" He asked, questioning his sanity.

"Yup, did you know that Allison was asleep for three years? Before I even met her yesterday we knew each other because we played together in our dreams!" She responded with a bright smile, trying to stick to the story Allison told.

"Is Allison the name of your friend? What does she look like?" The boy asked.

"Yup, she's very pretty. She has long black hair and pink eyes, but she's invisible today, she was in the library for a little while, she stopped by to say hi!" She told him.

He did not remember that in the slightest, he must have been distracted or his sister was insane. He hoped it was the former.

"So, you're saying that you have a friend that you have known your entire life through dreams but also just recently met her in reality. After you met her she followed you home and changed your room to your personal preferences, and she stops by to say hi every now and then." He summarized.

  "Yup."

"Okay. This actually isn't the weirdest thing I've heard. I believe you. Is Allison the same Allison you met yesterday due to Father?" He asked.

"Yeah, but why do you call him father? She asked right back.

"He's my father." He stated rather bluntly.

"Sucks to be you then. I can't imagine having him as a father." Rinaye told him.

  He just stared back.

"But he your father," he said confused.

  "What."

"Yeah... I even knew your mother. He keeps a portrait of her in his office." He responded.

Her face looked like it had been punched.

"I feel so stupid. I never put two and two together.. I was told my father owned this place. I didn't really connect the dots. Wow, I bet the brothers I've been told about are going to pop up next." She sighed, exasperated.

  "..."

"You're my fucking brother aren't you."

  "Yup."

"You never figured it out?" Allison was laughing uncontrollably.

  "Shut up," Rinaye grumbled.

"Even knew and I was asleep for three years!" This was just getting embarrassing now. I'm glad he left, though. I really wanted to talk to you and I don't feel like revealing myself yet." Allison told her.

"Did you maybe stop to think about that when you showcased your magical stuff and then disappeared. Everyone here thinks I'm the one that messed with the room!" Rinaye asked, frustrated.

"I'm still sorry about that," She said with a sigh, I wasn't thinking. I just wanted to make you happy."

"It's okay, I know. We were both excited to see each other again. Neither of us were thinking," Rinaye told her with a smile on her face. "Anyway, you should probably get going. You've been here for a while, isn't your father worried?"

"Almost definitely. He already knows I'm a prodigy, he won't be worried about my safety at least." Allison responded

"Please don't blow up the continent." Rinaye asked.

"No promises!" Allison said as she jumped out he window.
