A while after I had fallen asleep, someone shook me awake.

  Before I even saw who it was, my body intuitively spoke up.

  In a very sleepy tone, I said, “Lilith?” like it was second nature. Like this was a common occurrence.

  When I open my eyes, I saw my older sister, Lilith.

  I was right.

  But something struck a nerve with me.

  When I first saw her, I saw her as nothing more than a stranger.

  But now, I recognize her as my beloved older sister.

  Like Nyx and I were becoming one.

  Or something like that.

  Still groggy, I hear Lilith start talking. “Good morning sleepy head. Mom and dad sent me to get you for dinner”

  “Oh” is all I can say, still somewhat asleep.

  Looking at me with some concern, Lilith speaks again. “If you don’t think you're up to it, one of the maids can bring you dinner here?”

  “No, I’ll come” I say in a light tone.

  “Great!” she says, pulling me out of bed. She then takes me to one of the doors in my room, which I now somehow know is my closet.

  When we enter the closet, I am greeted by a rge assortment of clothes. And a lot of it didn’t fit the western fantasy motif of Starcross Adventure.

  I could see so many clothes that just seemed like cospy to me.

  I was still a young child, but all if it seemed to be retively my size.

  Lilith picked out an outfit for me to wear. It wasn’t fancy in any way, but was something that I could have seen in some anime before. It was also just like the clothes that I originally saw Nyx wearing in the prologue, just different colors.

  The outfit consisted of a white blouse and a pink skirt. It fit well in the motif the game was going for.

  “Allright, this should be fine. I’ll wait for you outside of your room” she tells me, then leaves the closet.

  After being left alone, I start to change my clothes. Taking the nightgown I had been wearing off, I see I have a pce for dirty clothes inside of the closet.

  BUt before I start putting on the clothes that Lilith had picked out, I realize that I don’t know what to do for underwear.

  But, like I was an autopilot, my body moved and picked out what I was missing.

  After that, I get that stuff put on quickly. After that, I also finished getting dressed.

  Looking in the mirror, I once again started thinking that I was now a girl.

  But I also think about something I hadn’t thought about in a really long time.

  I looked cute.

  Before waking up as Nyx, I wasn’t the best looking person. This was one of the reasons why I liked games like Starcross Adventure, with character customization. It was fun.

  But now this was what I looked like. And it didn’t feel wrong to me.

  Finishing up the outfit with a set of knee socks that I thought looked good with the clothes Lilith picked out, I also grab a pair of shoes in the room, thinking that they would be the best to wear.

  As much as the body feels like my own, and the muscle memory was coming back, I didn’t think something with heels would be good. Even slight ones.

  I then made my way out of my room.

  Lilith is waiting for me, and when she sees me come out of my room, she starts to look very excited. She rushes over to me and gives me a big hug.

  This makes me feel really safe.

  “You look really cute” Lilith says while still hugging me.

  This makes me really shy and I just pushed my head more into her to hide my face.

  “Well, dinner will be ready soon. Let's head over to the dining room” She tells me, letting go of the huge. She then grabs my hand and guides me to the dining room.

  As we walked through the mansion, it started as really unfamiliar. But the more time we spent walking together, the more I started to know what the building yout was. More than just what we had passed, like I had been here before.

  And eventually we made it to the dining room.

  When we walked in, we found the maids setting the table, while mom and dad were sitting at the table.

  “Oh, there you are” dad said when he saw us. “My two adorable kids”. He had a huge smile on his face.

  Lilith and I walked over to sit by them. Dad was at the head of the table and mom was to his left. I sat next to mom while Lilith sat to Dad’s right.

  “Are you feeling better, Nyx?” mom asked me while I sat down.

  “Um, yes” I say, still not sure how to interact with everyone.

  I am stuck between both knowing them and not knowing them at the same time.

  I wondered if this would ever go away.

  “That's great. We were so worried about you over the st few days” mom said, jumping out of her chair and pulling me into a hug.

  This reminds me of memories from Nyx. How overly attached she was to both of her kids. How much fun she had dressing me in different clothes.

  And it makes me happy.

  “Well, that smile is good. But I don’t want you over extending yourself.” Dad tells me.

  “Ok” I say back to him.

  From there, dinner was served by the kitchen staff. It was meat from monsters from the area. I know this from the game, since a lot of the monsters had fvor text that talked about their taste and were used in cooking in the game.

  Along with the meat, there was also bread and soup served to each of us.

  When I start to eat, I get a rush of memories of dinner just like this.

  Over the dinner, mom and dad tell us stories from their youth and their time adventuring.

  It was amazing.

  My family back on earth was close, but we hadn’t been like this in a really long time. The only times we all ate together was on holidays.

  Remembering them fills me with mixed emotions, because I would probably never see them again. But now, I wasn’t really who I was back then.

  Even in just this one day, I feel like I am Nyx now.

  After dinner was done, Lilith brought me back to my room. I was still young, and still getting over being sick, so dad said I should try to sleep some more.

  Before I entered my bedroom, Lilith started talking to me.

  “Nyx, if you feel sick again, come to my room. We can sleep together if you want” she tells me. Her bringing this up brings even more back to me.

  Over my life, we had often slept together whenever I wasn’t feeling good. But right now, I didn’t think it was necessary. I was still getting used to being the new me.

  “Um, I think I will be fine” I tell Lilith.

  After that, we said goodnight to each other and I headed into my room.

  Once again in my bedroom, I decide to look at the rest of the things in the room. Outside of the many toys in the room, I also find a number of books. Opening them up, I find both a mix of things like children's books, but also things like text books.

  This brings back the memories of the csses I was taking. They were all basic csses for math and nguage, but I remembered I was going to be starting social studies csses soon.

  I was the child of a count and had a basic level of knowledge to meet if I wanted to continue on in life.

  Much like Lilith was going to do in 2 years, I was expected to join the royal magic academy.

  Moving on to the other things in the room, I don’t find too much. Most of my stuff was stuffed animals.

  But I was still getting tired so I went back into my closet and changed into the night clothes I wear. Much like the rest of my clothes, they were definitely for a girl, but wearing them just feels right. It was really girly and frilly, but also super soft.

  Walking out of my closet, I make my way back into my bed. As I lie down in it, the softness overcomes me.

  I quickly fall asleep.

  On the day of October 19th 2026, Riley Westfield was found dead at his computer.

  He was 23 years old.

  He is survived by his father and his older brother, as well as his step mom and step sister.

  He was preceded in death by his mother.

  His cause of death was found to be a sudden and unpredictable stroke while he was pying a computer game.

  His family is set to inherit all of his money, an estate found to be worth in excess nearly 100 million dolrs.

  This would be only one of 11 deaths of a simir fashion on that day.

  BUt no one would ever connect those deaths to each other.
