Nova rocketed skyward, soaring tens of thousands of meters in an instant. As he neared the city from above, the towering structures came into focus—even from this distance, their sheer size was staggering.
‘Are those made of stone?’ he wondered, hovering at the peak of his ascent.
Then, gravity took hold. He plummeted like a meteor, the wind howling past him. With every second, more details emerged below—until he spotted it. A massive, glowing array blanketed the entire city.
His eyes narrowed. ‘Damn. I didn’t account for this.’
Tightening his grip on the spear, he spun it in his left hand, scanning the array. Within moments, he found a weakness in the energy flow. Taking a sharp breath, he struck.
No explosion. No dramatic shockwave. Just a silent, precise severing. The energy flow wavered, and a three-meter-wide breach appeared.
‘That was easier than I thought’ he mused, slipping through the opening. As he glanced back, he watched the gap slowly mend itself, energy threads weaving together once more.
‘I need to study arrays more.’ Making a mental note, Nova turned his attention to the city. Now that he had a clear view—even under the cover of night—the sheer scale of it left him in awe.
Buildings of varying heights, ranging from 60 to 200 meters, towered over the city. The roads, wide enough to accommodate dozens of giants walking side by side, remained unpolished—nothing more than hardened earth. Giants filled the packed streets, some rushing with purpose, others moving in clusters. It was a sight to behold.
‘Do they never sleep?’ he wondered, but quickly dismissed the thought. ‘I need to stop judging other races by human standards.’
His observations lasted only a moment before gravity completed its pull. Nova plummeted toward the ground, yet when he landed, there was no impact—no sound. Thanks to his mastery of One with the World footwork, he touched down as softly as a falling leaf, unnoticed by anyone.
He immediately scanned his surroundings. Towering trees loomed around him, their thick foliage casting deep shadows. The scent of damp earth and fresh leaves filled the air.
A quick recollection of the city’s layout confirmed his suspicion.
‘This is a backyard.’
Nova shook his head at the realization. ‘I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to this size disparity.’
Pushing the thought aside, he moved toward the edge of the courtyard. The main difference between this forest and the one he had traversed earlier was the sheer scale of everything. Here, the trees barely reached 20 meters—likely planted for decoration—while the grass swayed at knee height, making him feel like an insect in a world built for giants.
It took only a few minutes to reach the towering structure that loomed ahead. Up close, Nova studied the building’s energy flow. ‘A 160-meter-tall structure… reinforced by an array’, he thought. His gaze traced the gray exterior. ‘It looks like stone, but…’
Curious, he knocked with his knuckles lightly against the surface. The material resisted—not with the dull solidity of stone, but with something else. Something tougher.
A slow smile crept onto his face. ‘Another unknown material. There’s so much to learn from this civilization.’
With that thought, he stepped inside.
The moment he entered, a voice reached his ears—loud, agitated, impossible to ignore.
"I will make them pay. How dare they treat me like this? Have they forgotten who my father is?"
A sharp cracking sound echoed through the house. One snap, then another, and another—like something fracturing under immense pressure. Labored pants followed, ragged and uneven.
Nova smirked as he followed the voice. ‘A spoiled rich kid having a meltdown? How adorable.’

Passing through several massive doorways, he finally reached the source of the commotion.
A towering figure sat hunched in the center of the room, the ground beneath him riddled with fractures. He was around seven meters tall—nothing unusual for a giant—but the intricate ornaments adorning his body and the star-shaped mark on his right shoulder set him apart.
Above his head, glowing in vivid red, hung a name.
[Giant Warrior]
‘Another warrior?’ Nova mused, his curiosity piqued. Without hesitation, he pulled up the Status to take a closer look.

‘Weaker than Krogar.’
Nova stood right beside the giant, yet the oblivious warrior hadn’t even noticed his presence.
“Who’s your father?” Nova asked, his usual smile in place.
The sudden voice made the giant—Eiruk—flinch. His head whipped around, scanning the room. Seeing no one, he turned left, then right, his confusion deepening. Only when his gaze dipped downward did he finally spot Nova—someone barely the size of a newborn beast in his eyes.
Eiruk’s expression twisted in disbelief before he bellowed, “Who are you!”
"A mere nobody seeking information" Nova said, locking eyes with Eiruk, his gaze unwavering.
But Eiruk only heard the first word before tuning out. Rising to his full height, he loomed over Nova like a gathering storm, his massive fists clenched tight. His voice rumbled, low and thunderous.
“This is your last chance to leave.”
Nova only shrugged, unfazed. His smile widened as he spoke.
“This is going to hurt a little.”
Eiruk barely had time to process Nova’s words before his right leg buckled beneath him. He crashed to the ground with a thunderous impact, the pain hitting a split second later.
A scream tore from his throat—raw, guttural, the kind that came from deep agony. It resembled the desperate wail of a dying animal.
Blood poured from the gaping hole in his knee, a wound nearly half a meter wide. His body thrashed involuntarily, wracked with pain, but through the haze, his fury remained.
“YOU—”
“Ready to answer my questions?” Nova interrupted, his smile growing colder, sharper.
Nova’s mind drifted for a moment, recalling the first giant he had encountered—Krogar. ‘Stubborn race. No wonder they lost their war despite their natural gifts.’
Eiruk’s fists clenched, his knuckles turning white. His nostrils flared, but despite the seething hatred in his eyes, he managed to grit out one word.
“Ask.”
Nova read his intentions as clearly as if they had been spoken aloud.
‘He thinks he can stall. Call for reinforcements. Kill me the moment I turn my back.’
If not for the special reward tied to this mission, Nova would have already slaughtered them all. But something told him he needed their cooperation—at least for now.
Finishing his train of thought, Nova spoke.
“Tell me everything you know about this world’s ruler and the noble families—their relationships, their power struggles. I want details.”
Eiruk’s expression shifted. The pieces finally clicked into place.
This outsider’s size. His unnatural strength he had never heard about. The kind of questions he was asking.
A grim realization crept over him, tightening like a noose around his thoughts. ‘Every time an outsider arrives… blood follows. Our civilization drowns in it.’
‘How did I end up being the one to meet him?’
Suppressing his rising panic, Eiruk forced himself to breathe evenly before answering.
“The ruler… isn’t someone I can speak about so lightly.”
Nova’s eyes narrowed. ‘That’s an odd response. Is there something hidden about the king?’
Pushing the thought aside for now, he kept his tone steady. “Tell me everything you know.”
Eiruk hesitated but ultimately relented. “The ruler is King Ordun, and he is also our strongest warrior. That’s all I can say about him.”
Nova’s gaze sharpened, silently urging him to continue.
Sighing, Eiruk obliged. “There are three noble families, each governing a city. The Morkhalas rule Valdurn. The Xalathar control Galthar—this city. And the Yurnokar hold power in Skygrag.”
Nova frowned. ‘Something doesn’t add up.’
“If Ordun is the ruler” he asked, voice laced with curiosity, “Then is he part of the Yurnokar? Shouldn’t he govern the capital city?”
Hearing his king’s name spoken so casually, Eiruk’s entire body tensed. His instincts screamed at him to strike—to crush this insolent outsider where he stood.
But the searing pain in his still-bleeding knee held him back. Gritting his teeth, he forced himself to stay still, his fists trembling with restraint.
“No” he spat, venom lacing his voice. “King Ordun is above the noble families. The Yurnokar govern only because he allows them to. I don’t know the full details, but King Ordun rarely appears in public. We know him mostly through his legends.”
As he spoke, a flicker of admiration flashed in his eyes.
Nova’s intrigue deepened. ‘A ruler who entrusts everything to nobles and barely shows himself? What kind of joke is this? Has he given up on it… or is there something far more pressing keeping him away?’
“Tell me more,” Nova said, his curiosity sharpening.
Eiruk inhaled deeply before continuing. “The three noble families wield immense power. Each governs their city without issue. But…” His fists clenched momentarily before he forced them to relax. “Some within their circles are corrupt. And with King Ordun absent, they act without restraint.”
His gaze locked onto Nova’s, steady and unwavering.
“Before I continue, I have a request.”
