Walking into the unexplored section of the jungle, Archie had his Compass of Desire out and followed its crimson needle pointing Northwards. He had moved far East enough for the needle to point him in a singular direction. He also knew he was getting closer due to the growing intensity of the needle’s glow.
As he trekked through the jungle, he ignored the different beasts and plants that observed him from afar. Instinctually he could tell they were F-Grades, high F-Grades, but F-Grades, nonetheless.
Anything lower than level 80 simply wasn’t worth his time anymore, the XP they gave was barely worth anything for him.
The deeper he ventured into the jungle, the higher the quality of the beasts and plants around him became. They were now firmly in E-Grade, around level 75, which went to show how cool the mutations the beasts and plants got when evolving.
He’d seen sloths the size of bears, hanging off trees and covering themselves with an illusionary veil, hiding them from other creatures.
One would wonder, what could make a bear-sized creature hide themselves in fear?
The giant swarm of boar-sized hornets a couple meters to his right and judging by their aggression, he was probably near their hive. If he did find their hive, he’d raid it for sure. He’d been missing his sugar fix for quite some time now. The last thing he ate with sugar was the slice of pie he was ate before the integration.
So, if he found the hive, you can bet he was going to raid it and take the honey to Evelyn to see if she could make something with it…after he had saved a good couple of pounds of honey for himself of course.
After all, even though the hornets were huge, they were just around level 80.
After trekking more into the jungle, the needle started to shake in place, glowing brightly, signaling to him that he was getting nearer to the Sigil Guardian’s dungeon.
Something else he’d noticed was that the deeper he went into the jungle, the more wild the plants were. Not in terms of species, but rather they gave off an aura of wildness, it was hard for Archie to put it in words.
He felt something similar to the beasts he saw on his trek. They were the same E-Grade species as the beasts he saw early on into his trek, .
? It wasn’t a strong change, either; it was just…noticeable. They had a wilder, more…primal aura around them. .
Regardless of their auras, Archie found what he was looking for.
In front of Archie was a vine-covered, mossy, marble archway, standing at the beginning of a large clearing in front of him.
Trees and their roots stopped short of entering the clearing, only long blades of grass and shrubs were in the clearing.
Identifying it revealed nothing, a notable identifier of being a dungeon. Putting away his Compass of Desire, Archie approached the arch and placed his hand upon it.
Dungeon of the Lost Valley
Objective: Reward:Requirements: Warning:
“The what?” Archie questioned, rereading the notification once more… That sounds like a dinosaur name?...
A wide smile broke across Archie’s face as he kicked off the ground and ran through the gate, vanishing once he ran into the arch.
As Archie’s head passed the arch, the once-empty clearing vanished and in its place was a prehistoric jungle. Trees towered at four times the size of those outside, while the plants grew wilder—and far more carnivorous.
He’d just witnessed some sort of Venus flytrap lean down and devour a… a boar creature thing? He hadn’t managed to identify it before it was swallowed whole. The creature had four tusks sprouting from its head, brown-and-white striped fur, with frail looking limbs that jutted out of its sides.
How any of that made sense, he wasn’t sure—but that’s exactly what the strange boar-thing had looked like.
[Dionaea Muscipula Lv 82]
Archie ignored the Venus flytrap and ventured deeper into the dungeon. While yes, they were at a higher level than him and he’d probably level if he killed it, they were not dinosaurs. He came in here to kill dinosaurs and that’s what he intended to do.
Venturing deeper into the jungle, jumping from branch to branch, Archie found his target.
[Emberlash Eudromaeosaur Lv 87]
The raptor-like dinosaur Archie was observing had coal-black scales that shimmered with fiery orange, red, and yellow hues. Its long, flame-wreathed tail swayed harshly, easily slicing through trees and stone.
Its spiny back glowed with a dim red hue, visible even during the day. Its small, thin arms were covered in feathers, resembling those of a colorful chicken. Its legs were long and powerful, like those of a giant roadrunner, but they were covered in scales and talons sharp enough to shred stone.
All in all, Archie was smiling, ear to ear at the sight.
Archie quickly looked around and found three packs of them in his vicinity, around fourteen in total. Looking ahead, Archie saw moss-covered ruins. The structures appeared to be the remnants of a stone stronghold, or at least, that’s what Archie assumed.

, Archie smiled as he stared at the raptors below.
Archie quickly activated Vital SightAdrenaline RushThornscourge Expansion
Archie leaped off the branch, plunging into the jungle floor forty feet below.
Archie flipped himself midair to deliver an axe kick to the raptor's head, cracking its skull and smashing it onto the ground below. Where it exploded from the force, covering the ground with brain chunks and skull shards. Some sticking into Archie's right boot.
Pushing himself up, Archie shook his right foot, getting most of the blood, brain, and skull off it, before kicking off the ground and activating Savage Charge
The blow sent it crashing into a tree with a broken jaw, before flopping onto the ground lifelessly.
Archie leaned back marginally, dodging an extended flame-wreathed tail strike at his head. Quickly grabbing the tail before it retracted and pulled. The raptor dragged its feet on the ground momentarily, in an attempt to stay on the ground, but was ultimately unable to resist Archie’s strength.
When he grabbed onto the tail, he took notice of the searing feeling he felt under the frostiron palm guard. While it felt hot, it was not enough to melt through. But not wanting to take a chance of them enhancing their flame-wreathed tails, he decided to release its tail.
Archie released the tail midway, allowing the raptor’s momentum to carry it toward him. Catching its head under his arm, he thrust his left hand into its mouth from below and his right hand from above. With a flex of his muscles, he tore the top half of the raptor’s head off and let it drop to the ground, ignoring the spurts of blood that released from its corpse.
Ignoring the spurt of blood that splashed onto his mask he charged at the last two members of the five-man… -dino…-dinoman pack.
Mid-charge, Archie weaved between two stabs at his head from their extended tails. But out of the corner of his eye, he saw them turn soft momentarily before arcing towards him. Archie surged stamina into his legs, enhancing his jump. Surprised shrill squeals were released from the raptors at his sudden disappearance.
Miscalculating the amount he jumped, Archie stared at the two raptors sixty feet below him in surprise, releasing a shout of joy. Surging nature mana into his vines, they exploded from his arms, shooting towards the raptors.
The two raptors dodged to their sides just before the vines grabbed them, but the vines arced: wrapping around their necks. The vines securely latched onto them as the thorns penetrated their scaled necks and latched onto their neck muscles.
Surging his strength into his arms and upper body, Archie flung his vines upwards, yanking the raptors with them. Whooping in joy, Archie crashed onto the ground in a crouch, but with a yank of his arm downwards, the raptors started free-falling in the sky and pummeled towards the ground. Archie recalled his vines as the raptors splattered onto the ground, covering the previously green long grass and rich soil with their innards.
, Archie thought as he charged towards the last five-dinoman pack of raptors. He left the four-dinoman pack of raptors for last since they were a bit further ahead towards the ruins, while the one he was heading toward was closer.
Kicking off an upper tree root, Archie activated Savage Charge
The sudden crater destabilized the footing of all the raptors, making them trip and tumble across the ground.
Archie caught the neck of the main raptor under his arm as it tumbled. Bringing his knee up for leverage, he flexed his right hand, producing a squelching snap as he snapped the raptor’s neck. Letting it drop, Archie swiftly turned around, facing four disgruntled raptors whose spines glowed a darker shade of red.
The talons on their short arms grew in an instant, from an inch long to seven, and wreathed in flames, before kicking off the ground and charging toward Archie.
Archie ducked under a swipe from one of the raptors, letting the tips of its elongated claws graze the side of his mask. He then swiftly transitioned from his crouch into a kneeling punch, with the thorns easily puncturing into its flesh. He had yet to stop the increased flow of nature mana being sent into the vines’ thorns when he previously yanked the raptors upward.
Archie’s fist found purchase into its chest cavity, breaking through its ribcage and the thorns ripping through its heart before he pulled out his fist.
But due to his attack, while another raptor missed their slice, the last raptor that reached him did not. Its flame-wreathed, elongated claws sunk an inch deep into his chestpiece before suddenly stopping, its flames providing no help.
Archie’s smile grew. The claw elongation skill it used was purely physical, while the flames it used to wreath them barely did anything other than heat up the piece of armor it touched.
Archie’s left hand shot towards the raptor’s elongated claw hand that was in his armor, pulling it towards him. But due to his action, the claws sunk deeper into his armor, reaching his flesh and lightly searing it. The pain barely registered to Archie as he crushed its neck with his empowered right hand due to Retaliation
Pivoting in his crouch, he kicked off the ground, activating Savage Charge
Archie felt an elongated flame-wreathed tail wrap around his left bicep, before the flames glowed a bright red, superheating his chestpiece sleeves. Just as Archie was about to reach the ground, he pulled back his left arm, pulling the raptor to him slightly and making it stumble momentarily. But its superheated tail was still empowered and turning the Sentinel Platiniteshell Chestpiece sleeves into a molten red.
Once Archie got his feet back onto the ground, he tackled the raptor to the ground before punching downwards, crushing its skull.
Getting up, Archie surged his vital energy into his wound and mana into his chestpiece, letting it repair. Looking Northeast, he saw the final pack of raptors charging at him, having heard the commotion of his previous fight.
Kicking off the ground Archie charged at the four remaining raptors, activating Savage Charge
Dodging yet another tail whip, Archie grabbed the tail just as it was about to retract and pull it towards him. Just as the raptor was about to reach him, Archie kicked it and sent it flying at the other raptor that was about to whip its tail at him, making them collide with each other.
Archie quickly activated Savage Charge
With an exhale, Archie pulled out his arms from their chests and let the raptors fall lifelessly onto the ground. A smile still lingered on Archie’s face, .
